Sapphire and Snow loosened up their defensive stances.

"Alright you too" Blossom murmured gently. "Why don't you go find your brother?"

Sapphire nodded and pranced away. Snow followed more slowly.

Sapphire stuck her nose to the ground, sniffing every rock and strand of grass. When she caught the scent of Birch, she lifted her head and signaled with her tail for Snow to follow.

Snow followed, a bit faster now. She perked her ears when she heard Chester's voice. She whipped her head around and saw Cjester backing out of a cluster of bushes.

She padded towards him, her tail held high. "Is Birch in there?" she asked as she approached Chester.

Chester grinned a little before biting his lip. His omega instincts overpowered his sadness over Newt just enough for him to joke around.

"Birch? Oh no. He's not in there. Why, I haven't seen him since this morning!"

Snow grinned back. "I know you're lying." She tilted her head, confused.

How can I tell? Maybe this is my power!

She smiled wider and pranced into the bushes. "Gotcha Birch!" she growled playfully as she pounced on her brother. Sapphire appeared in the bushes and helped attack Birch.

North nodded.

"Maybe you should appoint a new Beta?" she suggested. "In my opinion, Dagger isn't at all fit for the role of Alpha. And you are getting pretty old. I think it's about time you join me in the elders' den."

Birch yelped and scuffled backwards, rolling Sapphire and Snow off of him.

“I don't want to play,” he whimpered.

Sky sighed. “I could leave Dagger beta, and appoint someone else leader. But however we do it, I'm afriad of what he will do if I make him a subordinate. For all we know, he'll start a civil war. I can't tear my pack apart. Not with so many pups. We'll be weak.”

She flattened her ears. "Do you really want an aggressive wolf leading this pack into every battle we come across? It would be easier to be against him. It's the pack versus him."

North's hackles raised. "Didn't mom teach us not to trust wolves with spikes on their backs?! I could tell when you chose him he was a monster. You were blind! And now look what situation you're in!"

She tried to snarl, but started coughing. Her lungs ached and she started coughing up bits of blood.

"Come one!" she growled.

North fell forward and closed her eyes, continuing to cough up blood.

Once she stopped, she slumped down, her breathing quick and shallow.

She sprinted forward and froze next to North.

"Is she.... Dead?"

North let out one more shallow breath' then it stopped altogethe.
