I sort of understand how battlefield works and I've even won battles before, however I'm not really good enough to beat most squads.

My main question is, is there any really good combos of species or tactics?

My first squad comprised of a lvl 50 *** Unicorn with a doom drake, fire drake and a low levelled (7ish) defence throdama ***. I could beat some people but had majority losses.

I trained up some other pets a bit more and tried two lvl 50 *** unicorns with the lvl 27 defence throdama *** and a lvl 32 Warrior throdama **.  With this combination I can't even beat squads I'd have been able to with the last squad.

I changed one lvl 50 *** unicorn for a doom drake and I'm still no good.

Should I be focusing on GP, species or tactics?

Beacause I'm not sure what a good combination to have is.

GP gives you more tactics to choose from when the pet wins more battles. Ideally you would want at least one GP3 pet, and focus on tactics for the rest, but tactics should really be your main concern.

Battlefield is all about strategic builds and counter-builds. It's not just about having good tactics; it's about understanding how each of them work and how you can make them work together to score the most points.

Study the Tactics FAQ a lot so you know what each tactic does. When you lose a battle, take a screenshot and study both your tactics and the opponent's tactics. Figure out what they were doing to score more points than you, and find a way to counteract it.

Another thing you can do is invite a Strategist to your Inn, and have a look at other people's tactic set-ups on the map. Then check that squad's wins in the user's stable. You can see what kind of strategies clearly work and which don't.

I realize none of that's specific advice, but it's really more about learning what works for you than getting the perfect tactic combinations. It takes practice more than anything else.

Thank you very much. It's true, I don't fully understand all of the tactics and often don't understand how somone has beaten me.

Honestly, that's helped me and I'm definitely going to take your advice and printscreen the battles i loose, that's a good idea!

Thanks again!

I can help you set good tactics if you wish... :)

I want you to listen to me very carefully, Harry. You're not a bad person. You're a very good person, who bad things have happened to. Besides, the world isn't split into good people and Death Eaters. We've all got both light and dark inside us. What matters is the part we choose to act on. That's who we really are.

If you could then that would be fantastic, but I'm quite happy just reading all the tactics and printscreening to figure it out.
