Shiver barked his agreement and wagged his tail harder.

Chase laughed.

"He's a very smart dog." Faelin said, her eyes still on the dog, "What breed is he? I'd love a dog like Shiver."

"He's a Czechoslovakian Wolfdog." Chase replied.

Shiver stood up and started chasing his tail.

"I don't think I can say that, let alone put it on a adoption paper." Faelin said, wrinkling her nose a little.

Chase's grin faded."Why not? Parents don't allow dogs?"

Faelin tried to smile, "No parents, just me, myself, and I." She said, trying to sound cheery, but failing.

"Oh...." Chase said."I'm sorry.."

"It's fine." Faelin said, standing up and smiling at the boy in front of her. "I'm Faelin, and you are?" She said, sticking out her hand so that the boy could shake it.

He took her hand."Chase, Chase Turnleaf."

Faelin chuckled softly, "I'd tell you my last name, but I don't have one." She shook Chase's hand, "How long have you had him?" She asked, nodding towards Shiver.

"Hmm.... About three and a half years." Chase replied, ruffling his messy hair.

"Cool. She said, kind of running out of things to say. "Well, I guess I should be going, thanks for letting me pet your dog."

"No problem, see you around?" Chase said, grabbing Shiver's collar.

"Sure." Faelin said, backing away. "Bye Shiver." She said to the dog, "and goodbye to you as well, Chase." She then turned, and walked away.

"C'mon Shiver." Chase said as he walked away, Shiver padded by his side.
