Hi everyone!

So, I'm pretty new to the game, but my second baby pet ever (technicially my first one after the one the Tutorial makes you do, lol) grew up today, and out of curiosity, I revealed her genes, and was pleasantly surprised with the outcome. I thought to myself, 'wow! She came out really well! I wonder what I should look for in a mate for her?'

I thought about posting a thread on here asking people what they thought I should look for in a mate--suggestions, you see--but then it occurred to me--I'd probably get a lot of different answers!!!

So, my question to you: what entails the perfect pet? Is it a particular set of genetics? A particular color or pattern combination? Something else? I understand that your perfect pet might be different for each species even. So--share what you breed for, or what you look for in a pet.  :)

If you asked what a good mate for her would be, I would have asked "what are you wanting to breed for?"

To me, for all species, a perfect specimen has no normal or negative genes. The genes are all highly useful and very powerful. Acute eyesight is a must as it is extremely useful. Some battlefield tactic genes in the mix are also always good. And it must be Gp3. To me that is the perfect pet. Though if it has 1 normal gene I sometimes let it slide as perfect.

This is an example of what I consider perfect.

Color and pattern wise, if that was the main focus, it would have two pairs of the desired color/pattern. Dominant and recessive copies.

Hmm,  I guess to me, it's pretty much just genes. The better the genes = the more useful/desirable the pet, ergo the more 'perfect'; it is

Anyways, I'm gonna top Monues, here is an example of what a nearly, if not, 'perfect' pet looks like: Diva Price.

Wireth, that unicorn is excellent :D

I'm hoping to breed one like that, someday. Without getting degen, which I've gotten twice so far this week.

Gah! Wireath, here I thought my breeding program was complete, then see that you have the exact same pet as I do (except deviant in cream). I must one up you and get a double deviant XD

But yea, I know many people have accomplished their breeding goals and gotten great pets, but I don't consider it "finished" unless it has dominant acute eye and steel bones (or an equally good counterpart) as well.

Always looking for the following: Mutagen, Change Sex Scrolls, Rainbow Jars

 I need: 2 Money Tree Saplings; 3 Nightcat; 1 Warehouse (lvl 6)

I have: 1 Spirit in a Jar; 1 Snake Eye

Monues and Wireath, those are both very lovely pets!

I notice a lot of people seem to breed for genetics on here...which I assume is due to the battling aspect of the game. Is anyone out there breeding mostly for color/patterns, or for something else? Just curious.

I tend to breed for genetics these days, and end up with blue roans and silver greys most of the time, which is weird.
