I was excited to see a 3000s quest come up for which one of my pets was almost qualified.  It was going to be the first time I could complete one of those.  I just needed to level my pet once to raise her Int another point.

So I did, but when I go back to the quests page it's still not showing anyone as qualifying.  Does the system only register my pets when the new day's quests are put up, and subsequent leveling don't matter?  Or maybe do I have to spam research until it shows her fragrance gene?  Because I know she has one; it comes up in Explore battle logs.

The gene needs to be researched in order for it to count for a quest. It should work after you do that.

Ah, thank you!

*looks at inventory and winces*   Well, hopefully I don't have to blow through 20 vermillion before I get it.

Edit: Oh my God, it was literally the last thing to come up.  20 vermillion and 2000s down.  Considering the value of vermillion, this quest is a net loss.

The gene you want to see is always researched last. Always. Vermillion is evil.
