lightningbug picked up her pup in her jaws and marched away from the rest of the pack. firefly whined in objection.

'The dark dog surrendered! I'm not using prisoners for gladitorial fights for your amusement!' Hornet snarled 'the rest of you, you can't be ok with this?

all right, if you need starchaser to proof himself, I could fight him. I am the vice leader of the military after all. I'm the second strongest of all of us. But non of you touches our captive.' Hornet growled threateningly 'None of you!'

Later that night  lightning bug approached the arena.  "Please can I watch? Please!" Firefly pleaded. Lightning bug looked back at her pup in disgust. "Why on the Sara would I let you watch! Go to the cave. NOW!" She barked. She placed herself next to the leaders chair. "I hope you are ready, my too contestants. Because if you aren't you are wishing to die." she laughed smugly. "I want I nice clean game. no weapons of any sort. No smuggling dangerous animals too. Just the ald fashioned way. Ok?" she asked her fighters

"Liste to me !"shoutd Mediorite."Do you no believe that  was once a god,tough you know my powers?i know wen i ha done somthing,and i dd!There will be no fihting,forif starchaser is bitten,he shal as well bcum a dark dog.he is our new god,and nothing shal happen to him.Period!"

"why dont you just bite the dark dog and make him a nightwolf?"asked big dipper.

'Meteorite, the problem is that the pack does not know him. you, we know. in you, we believe. you are confronting us with an unknown wolf, we don't know his powers, we don't know his character and he doesn't know us. how can he lead us then?'

Hornet looked at the old god, seeking understanding in his eyes 'You expect us to trust him blindly. let me fight him. let him proof himself. Then the pack can exept him with at least a little reassurance. He's supposed to be our alpha. he can't reject a challenge like this.

And Dipper... we tried.' Hornet replied to the question the other wolf had asked 'I guess he never was a nightwolf. we can't turn him, and we don't really know what to do with him now...'

OC: can I play the captive dark dog, if he ever gets a speaking role and can I try to recrute more people for the dark dog pack so we can plan an attack on the dreaded nightwolves to get our friend back?

lightning bug snorted from her seat at the arena. 'I thought that killing it off would be a good idea! but you people! my only friends said NO! you called my idea monsterous!' she sobbed tragicall, making a huge drama out of something small. 'dramaqueen." firefly whispered. 'WHAT WAS THAT HONEY!" she snapped. all fake sadness leaving her. 'nothing!' the pup whimpered and ran away

'fighters, are you ready or what? i'm not getting any younger here!' she grumbled

Dawn had fell asleep

Dusk pawed at his sister to wake up 'DAWWWWWNNN! You missed all the cool interrogation and godly powerssssss!!!!' he complained in his sisters ear.

'you cant just fall asleep when all that is happeningggg!!! come onnnnn!! wake uuuppp!!!!' he whined.

Nova shambled up to where the action was starting. she watched young firefly being herded along by her pushy mother, lightning bug. poor thing. firefly will never learn to speak up, she thought.

She watched their new god, starchaser. she trusted him completely. He looked determined and brave, she didnt know what all the others were complaining about.

back when she first became a nightwolf, there was none of this. everyone knew everyone and we didnt go around challenging darkdogs for trust.

Darkdogs were dangerous, not to be messed with, if it was up to her, she wouldnt have kept their darkdog prisoner here.

but oh no, us old wolves have no respect now, only the headstrong,impulsive, beefy ones.

Bad days are coming, she thought, and shook her head sadly.

Dawn woke up right away. "Okay Dusk."

'Nova!' Hornets tail wagged gently as he saw the old wolf 'I didn't think you'd come. I thought you disliked fighting. But I'm glad you're here. Can we... can we start then? or are we still waiting on someone?'

Hornet felt rather nervous about the challenge he just uttered, but he was pretty sure lightningbug would not give up until someone was fighting. he was convinced that starchaser was who he and meteorite said he was. He was also convinced that he would lose in a fight if he was right and starting a losing fight as never fun. But then again, afterlife was never easy, was it? He sighed deeply.

'Nova, can you be our referee? can you break it up if it goes to far?'

'Nova can referee. but there will be no need. if starchaser dies, it is because he is NOT what he claims to be. if anything starts to happen to hornet, then i believe it is time to put an end to it. of course, if he does win. that means he tried to hurt hornet. so he would be untrustworthy. so as you can tell. there is no need.' lightning bug said smugly in her im better than you voice. 

firefly's eyes opened up in shock. the pup knew her mothers plan. there was no way starchaser could beat her test without looking bad! she had to tell hornet and nova!!!!!!!

'enough with this, lightningbug.' Hornet growled. he knew that lightningbug was out to cause trouble. 'If he loses, I'm not going to kill him. This is a fight for rank, not a deathmatch. If he wins, he beat the challenge I - and YOU - set up for him. We can't fault him for that. What is wrong with you?'

He saw that firefly was nervouse about something. 'Everything alright, pup?' he asked softly

Nova looked mildly annoyed at lightning bug 'I didn't actually say yes to being referee yet, but I will' she said

she turned to look at starchaser. He didn't have a look of fear on him, but she could see hatred for lightning bug in his eyes.

Hornet looked worried, but she wouldn't allow any of them to be badly injured. We had enough problems with the dark dogs, now we're going to be fighting off each other?

'maybe.. Maybe we could just settle this in a vote?' She whispered to herself, but she never was the best at speaking up.
