'thats starchaser, darling.' she said kindly as she lickered her pup's ear. 

she then turned to starchaser. the kindness leaving her face. 'if you're our "new god" what happened to the old one? why would he pick a new-commer to replace him!?' she scoffed. firely looked confused.

'Just give him some room to explain' Hornet said. 'If he's anything like us I think he might just have died. But yeah, when you're ready, starchaser, we have a few questions for you. with all due respect, of course...'

Hornet was a little unsure about the newcommer. Meteorite had introduced him as the new god, but he had not expected for the gods to change. weren't they eternal beings?

"Well aparently fathers in this family give all their god powers to their sons when they die,sooo,um-yeah..."said starchaser.

"yes,t is tru,"id mediite."i gave my powers to him.im stil here,but im just not a god anymore."

'i say we do a trial!' lightning bug snorted. 'he needs to prove his worth to us! who knows, he could be dangerous.' she strode towards starchaser. 'What are you going to say about THAT'

firefly tucked away. 'mommy, stop that.' she whimpered.

'oh don't you tell your mother what to do!' she snapped at firelfy. 'tomorrow at midnight. we will hold the trial. you need to fight our captive dark dog. if you are a god. you will win. if you aren't..' she chuckled. 'you die.' she then turned sharply, and strutted away.

firefly pit her mum's tail. 'stop mom, please don't do it. don't let him fight the mean dog. dark doggy gives me nightmares. please no.'

Hornet looked at lighningbug and starry night disbelievingly.

'you can't let him fight against a captive. that's immoral! It's something the dark dogs would do. I won't stoop on their niveau. Do you hear me? listen to me!'

Hornet growled internally, then he looked at lighningbug. His eyes softened as he spoke to the smal nightwolf 'Don't worry, pub.She doesn't mean it.'

'well then hornet! how will he earn our trust? he is a stranger claiming to be a "god" that is a crime if proven incorrect. i want to go ahead with this. that dark dog and his kind killed many of us, if the so called "god" kills it. there is no loss. but if the dark dog kills him. well then. its a win-win. Mr. dark dog gets to keep is life for a while longer, and Mr. fraud god gets his punishment. and if they don't fight. that means they work together. so both will be punished. simple. if you don't like the idea. tell us what you think we should do.' lightningbug ridiculed.
