A lot of times there are perfect pets I have been looking for, but I find them with a user who has not been online for months, or years.

Those pets must be lonely, scared, in dilapidated stables full of webs and rats!

What I am suggesting is that the pound confiscates the pets of inactive users. Five months of not being online, or some other amount of time. The pets are then released to the pound to be adopted by other players.

Of course the owner of the pets will get an email warning them that the pets are going to be taken in so and so many days if they do not log in withen that time.

Is this a good suggestion?

Lonely, scared...dilapidated stables.... webs and rats... are we talking about your stables or those of inactive users? :P

I understand where you're coming from with this but it doesn't seem entirely fair to the users who can not come online for whatever reason. Real life gets in the way sometimes. Or, for those who decided to quit the game, it was their decision to leave without releasing/selling their pets first. Maybe they didn't want them to go to other users. And an email warning wouldn't do much good if the person no longer has access to that email. I think it would be a terrible thing to return to BK after a hiatus only to find that all of your pets are gone and that you have to start all over.

In any case, if this were to be implemented I think it would need to be at least 6 months, since that would make half a year, and that maybe only 1 pet gets confiscated each day after that point.

Please no.

I really hate sites that do this, it actually just makes it so I'll be constantly paranoid while I play, and I'll never return if I leave. I end up burning out quicker and dropping the site pretty early, since I dislike being forced to play.

Hopefully it never gets implemented in any sort of way.

There are cases where you get bored with a game and forget about it but then remember a year or two down the line and want to play again. No one likes starting from zero over and over again.

Example: Howrse. I used to be in the top 10 players for paint unicorns but then dropped the game for whatever reason. Recently I wanted to play it again to have another genetic pet game but learned that my account was deleted due to being more than 6 months inactive. I so do not want to start over again so am not playing it.

Always looking for the following: Mutagen, Change Sex Scrolls, Rainbow Jars

 I need: 2 Money Tree Saplings; 3 Nightcat; 1 Warehouse (lvl 6)

I have: 1 Spirit in a Jar; 1 Snake Eye

Have Ice Breath + Ice Aura Lykos and Lightning Rocs for Sale

I definitely do't want that to be implemented, while I was a beta tester, I had been away for over 6 months before being lured back by my friend telling me about the deviant colours, if I'd have had to start all over again, I wouldn't have bothered

Yes but no.

Maybe on your like account settings or preferences or whatever have a delete account button.  Then send all that users pets to the pound.  If you want an example go to creaturebreeder.com and you can see what Im talking about.

We actually prefer to keep old accounts as they are. Who knows if a player decides to return after a year of hiatus just to find out that all their progress is gone? This will be an unpleasant surprise for sure.

Probably the only case when player's pets can be safely moved to pound is when it's an account that was banned for a certain time period, something like 1 month to exclude ban by mistake and give some time for the account owner to contact support and clear out the confusion if it happens. Players who asked to delete their account are falling into this category too because we don't delete accounts but just close the access to them.

Like Angel said, if a player returns to find all their progress gone, it would be pretty unpleasant, I'm sure. However, I would love if banned players accounts were cleared, so we don't have pets collecting dust in an account that will never be used again.

Hey everyone!

Definitely no. I see tons of people not come on for weeks to months to years and then return later.

Maybe as an alternative suggestion, do auctions of stables with the approval of the owner? This could easily be done without any site modification though. However, it would be difficult to contact the user.......

Definitely not for inactive accounts, but I think sending the pets from perma-banned acounts to the pound is a good idea.

Its actually not a bad idea for those that quit permanently. I mean, there should be a way for them to tell the admins that they plan to quit and never come back.

But no for those that have something going on and thats why they can't get on.

Ack, I want to add to this...

So I was looking at pets who used my skins.. And I see some of them in banned users accounts... This makes me sad in a way. It would be nice if banned user accounts could be dumped into the pount. I mean they wont be coming back....

Always looking for Expand Stable Scrolls

I think that the idea is great for the players that got banned.
