"That would be correct. One room a piece. We wont have to worry about the yeties unless we stray from the corridors, or fail a puzzle," Deniigi said, picking himself up. Seeing the egg, he stepped forward to examine it. "It looks like a dormant Lykos. This must be the champion Icewarden was speaking about."

"That I am, but I have lost most my strength, and have taken a dormant state to preserve my life," a voice said, resonating through the room, "Until I can geet my strength back, I will be stuck like this."

Goldenscale gave a look of awe before squeaking and jumping backwards at the sound of the voice.  Her eyes were wide in shock, still so when she carefully crawled back to the egg.  "The egg spoke..." she said in wonder.  She had never witnessed such a thing before, and it was odd to her.  "How do you get your strength back?" she asked, wary or the voice.

"It will come back to me when the external conditions become agreeable for me to survive. The cold here has gotten to me after eight years," the lykos said, "I can sense you and your friends posses the spirits chosen by nature."

"That we do as far as we have been made aware," Ahnah said, placing a wing around Goldenscale to share her body heat.

Goldenscale curled into Ahnah's body and gave a sneeze.  "Yes, we are.  So must we carry you outside the cavern walls for you to gain your strength again?" she asked.  Now she was all sorts of confused.  How would the puzzle reacts?  Would the egg count the dormant Lykos being as a part of their party?  What if the Lykos was unable to regain energy even when they are outside?  What if they never make it to the cavern doors, would the Lykos die away from it's pedstal or just wait?  So many thoughts she almost got a headache from them.  They were worth thinking of though.  Their journey had to be near perfect if they needed to survive the entire thing.

"You just need to get me to a place where the cold isn't sucking the energy from me. If it helps, don't worry about me being harmed while like this. This hibernative like state is my kind's way of surviving the harshest conditions. Only the strongest of being will be able to harm this shell," the lykos said, the egg giving a light twitch, "As far as I can sense, tehis Fortress still considers me a being in this state."

"That, that will be an issue. We each will have to finish a puzzle correctly if we are to get out without a fight, but you being unable to more will mean we'll have to fight at least one of the yeties," Deniigi said, walking over to the room exit with Midnight in tow, and sitting down to wait, "It's hard to tell how the Fortress will react to a failed puzzle. It could pit us against multiple yeties at once after a puzzle, or have only a cub fight us, there's no waay to tell."

Goldenscale gave a nod of understanding.  If it needed to reach the outside of the cavern, they had to do it.  "Okay.  It sounds like it would be difficult to get back out, seeing that we have to solve a puzzle for you too." she said.  She then paced the room in a circle for a moment, listening to Deniigi speak until she had an idea.  "Is there a way for you to send your energy outwards, like through someone to solve the puzzles?" she asked.  She then rolled her eyes as she thought of something.  "If not and we have to fight a yeti, then I can try to buy you four time to escape.  I might not do very well in cold environments, but I have my fire." she said with a nod.

"I've never tried, but it doesn't sound too far out there.Regardless , I would need someone to make sure I stay warm in while I tried," he said, the spikes seeming to pull up against the shell, "My name is Kaden by the way. Well, since you're suceptable to the cold, I suggest we get going as soon as possible."

"Yes, and that reminds me, time in here doesn't flow like it does outside. A da in here is equal to two days outside. We'd best hurry before Alignak closes the barrier," Deniigi said, waiting by the room exit.

"That just means we need to avoid making mistakes then. I'll carry Kaden then," Ahnah said, placing the rune in her satchel before  taking the egg in her wings, "I just hope we get lucky and get the easier puzzles."

Goldenscale gave a nod to Kaden after he spoke.  "It is nice to meet you Kaden.  Just tell me when you are ready to try and I'll try to connect to your aura." she said.  At hearing that time flowed differntly in the cavern than outside, she almost panicked.  "Oh no!  We should hurry!" she said.  She bounced around for a moment before stopping.  "If we do meet a yeti, then Ahnah, I want you, Midnight, and Deniigi to run out of the cave as fast as you can.  I promised that Deniigi would make it out safely and that we would return with the rune.  I can fend off the cold much better than Midnight if I tried.  Alright?" she said.  While Midnight was sure to offer to help her, she knew that Midnight was new to the biting cold and might not be able to last long in it.

"I'll stay with you. Deniigi will be able to protect Midnight and Kaden well enough. If he can handle five hatchlings in the snow, he can handle Midnight and Kaden," Ahnah said, passing Kaden off to Deniigi before placing a wing over Goldenscale to calm her, "We should be fine as long as we remain calm. If we get worked up, we'll be more likely to make mistakes."

"Yes, Ahnah has a point there. I should be able to manage these two should the need be," Deniggi said, slipping Kaden onto his back, "Since you and Midnight are week to the cold, I think you two should get your puzzles done first. The cold is stronger for those meant to be working on the puzzles, and Ahnah and I will be able to warm you two back up afterwards."

Well she hadn't expected that, but she might as well go with it.  Once Ahnah had made up her mind it was impossible to change it again.  She didn't really notice how tense and fidgety she was until Ahnah placed her wing on her.  It startled her to silence.  "I'm completely calm, there is no need to worry." she said.  She then gave a snort.  "To tell the truth, the cold hasn't really bothered me, but I guess that's just because I've been worrying about other things.  Let Midnight go first.  I can stand the old as long as my mind is occupied." she said.  Now that she was thinking about it, her wings felt frozen to her back and when she moved them up slightly they were stiff from the cold, ice clinking from her feathers.  She moved from underneath Ahnah's wings, a bit irritated and shook her body, the warmth being sucked from her as quickly as she had produced it.  Now that they were cine, she puffedher feathers up and around her body and moved back underneath Ahnah.

Wrapping both wings around Goldenscale, Ahnah nuzzled into the back of her neck.

"Prepare yourself then Midnight. If you clear the puzzle, the way will be cleared to the next room.If you fail, the revealed path with have a yeti waiting for us," Deniigi said, letting Midnight step away from him, "Don''t try to over think the puzzle though. The solution may be more straight forward than it appears."

Giving a nod, Midnight stepped through the barrier of light separating the room from the next. Once through, a slab of ice slamed into place where the door once was, locking off puzzle for the rest of the group.

Goldenscale gave purrs of content, moving her body so she could hug Ahnah.  She was thinking though, thinking about possible ways to keep themselves safe.  "How tough would you say a yeti's hide and fur is?" she asked.  She remembered the sword Willow had given her and was hoping it was sharp enough to pierce it if it could.  She gave a snort or warm air as she tried to regulate her body temperature.

"Tougher than  our claws can handle, that much I know. I never got the chance to really examine one. All I really know is that their main defense comes from the ice that coveres their fur," Deniigi said, "Something sharper may be able to punch through, but there's no telling without trying."

"We usually try to avoid confrontation with the yetis as they're the protectos of the Icewarden when he resided here. They're still be when he returnes after the pillar of elements is restored," Ahnah said, puffing out the fur on her back to shed the built up frost, "In all honsesty, I don't think anyone is the clan's history has seen a dead yeti."

Goldenscale tilted her head a bit to the side as she thought.  "Do you think a sword could pierce the ice and their skin?" she asked.  She then listened to Ahnah as she spoke, trying to be considerate.  Well then, she couldn't kill the yetis then since they are guardians like her.  That and she had respect for the Icewarden as she did for all the others.  "Then if we find one we should try to refrain from killing it then." she said.
