Goldenscale nodded.  "Everyone deserves a second chance.  I believe that everyone does have a good side, but it has to be kindled by good things.  I do not find joy in seeing others hurt, emotionally of physically, and I will act according to whichever it is.  I know you have a good side, because I have seen it." she said.

"Just don't let the opinions of others sway your own if they have nothing to back what they say.Be you, not who someone wants you to be," she said, leaning into Goldenscale, "If you can't find someone who will accept you where you are, there are other places in this world. I found a place, and eventually I came to meet the two best people of my life there."

Looking to Ahnah, Aipaloovik sat back and tilted his head in thought. After a few moments, he lowered his head. "I'm sorry for what I said last night. Father was right, I was comepletely fine with you until I learned who you actually were," he said, "If anyone should be giving second chances, it should from me to you."

Goldenscale purred and nuzzled Ahnah.  "Being ourselves are what makes us all unique." she said with a nod.  She then smiled.  "How about we all start over.  We will treat each other nicely and we will all get along greatly."

"Starting over would be nice, but I would still feel bad for saying what I did. I should have taken what you were actually like as who you are rather than taking the word of someone else," Aipaloovik said, keeping his eyes down, "I shouldn't have thrown everything that had happened out the window like I did. You both deserved better out of me."

"At least you admit your mistakes. This is your chance to set them right. Play your cards right, and we can put what happened behind us. Water under the bridge as my old trveling companion used to say," Ahnah said, flinching as two pieces of ice pinched her ear, "Maybe once father is gone, I will return here, but as I sit now, this place has little more than pain to offer me."

Goldenscale smiled.  "Yep.  Admitting your msitakes is a big first step and it takes a lot of courage to do so.  Hopefully we can put the oast behind us.  As I say, we can live in the past but it will cloud the future, live in the future and you won't see the present, but if you learn from the past and make simple plans for the future, all will be well." she said.  "I seem to change that a bit every time, but oh well."  Goldenscale noticed that Ahnah had winced when the ice pinched her ear, and it made her remember that she had earrings in her ears.  She always forgot about them because they were always there.  She then put her hand up to her ear to make sure they were there.  She then removed her ahdn when she heard the soft yet familiar clink of the metal.

"If I'm going to take over after Alignak, I will need to learn that lesson well. A leader must learn from his mistakes, and he must never let the past or furture cloud his judgement," Aipaloovik said, giving a nod, "Right now, i'm just glad I have someone else alive in the family that isn't my father or a puppet."

"I'm glad you thik that way. As for the family thing, I wish I could do more, but my sister is probably nothing more than a puppet that can act on its own in her current state," Ahnah said, blinking when she noticed Goldenscale's earrings, "Huh, I never noticed those there before. They match your fur very well."

Goldenscale looked between the two.  Flicking her ears around in self amusement as her earrings made the soft ringing click.  She then looked at Ahnah, a smile on her face.  "Even I forget I have them.  I think I got them from a chest humans left behind in the forest when I was young.  I can't remember for sure though." she said with a purr.  She then went over to the window and looked outside.  "What time is it?" she asked.

"It's still early morning. Most people are still waking up. It will a few hours before the snow is cleared out enough to get out," the elder said, taking a look out the window himself, "They take their time, but they also make sure nothing goes overlooked. It's a slow procedure, but it leaves the vilage unhindered by snow."

"Ya, we never get more than about half a day behind on our daily tasks because of this system.. This vilage has also never had a snow related injury since the system was first started," Aipaloovik said,  moving around the fire to be at Ahnah's side, "There's usually a headcount after the snow is cleared. if you want Ahnah to go unnoticed, we'll need to find a way to hide her and her aura."

Goldenscale nodded.  "Well every precaution is a good idea." she said.  She then began to shiver because of the cold air eminating from the window. She then walked over to the fire and lay down, tucking her feet and oaws under her body and curling her tail around her.  "It gets cold around the windows pretty quickly.

"That it does. Glass isn't that good at keeping heat in, but it's also transparent. It doesn't really matter since you're more likely to sleep near the fire rather han near the window," the elder said, taking a piece of cloth and wiping over the window, "We wont have to worry about Ahnah's aura. I'm more than capable of hiding it. One of the little pranks I would pull on her father was to conceal it using a piece of glossed oak wood."

Giving a smirk, Ahnah removed a small piece of rough oak wood. "You mean like this? I remember those days very well," she said, tossing the wood over to the elder for him to use, "I've figured out how to do it myself, but I'll let you do it, or old time's sake."

Goldenscale looked between Ahnah and the elder, not really knowing what they were talking about.  "How does a piece of wood work as a concealment spell?" she asked.  It was part of a tree, but she was unsure of hiw such a small piece of a tree could do so much.

"The wood that grows just beyond the edge of the snow here carries some very solid stored of magic. Oak trees tend to have greater storage and strength when compared to other types in the area," the elder said, catching the piece of wood and going to work lacing a spell into it, "They tend to hold onto a spell for as long as there is energy to take. Placing a spell on a small piece like this allows you to choose when and where the spell fires without draining any mana from youself."

Goldenscale smiled in awe.  "Really?  I didn't know that.  Why didn't Willow tell me then..." she said with a sigh.  "Oh well, I know now, and that is quite a nifty thing I think.  Saves energy for sure." she said with a nod.

"She probably didn't tell you because it's a property only found in the trees at the edge of the tundra. Something about the ice and snow makes the trees grow with this magical aptitude. Thespirits of the trees are also more ancient than most. The magic within the trees has allowed them to survive, even after the tree itself was cut down, allowing them to regrow the tree itself," he said, handing the piece of wood back to Ahnah, "As a spirit, I'm sure you've notice he spirits within the trees are much older than their homes."

Goldenscale lughed.  "I honestly didn't look for that sort of thing.  I found out I was a spirit a week, couple weeks ago.  But that's cool that the tree will regrow itself even after if it cut down." she said with a smile.
