irrimn: This would work perfectly if people routinely sold pets that had been researched. But they don't, most pets in auctions haven't been researched and so won't show up on any filters for genes, only for species and gender (and stats I think)

There is no way to search for generically 'green' genes on unresearched pets.

Ok, except if no genes are researched then how can the person who bred it know what the genes are anyways? The only case in point would be where the genes give green stats but if that's the only purpose I would rather see a search option for GREEN STATS. Then you could filter all pets by, for example, "All pets with green bite damage". Then that'd of course include sharp teeth, double incisors, saber-toothed, acid spitting, fire breathing, lightning calling, solid beak, massive beak, solid horn, and diamond horn. If the genes aren't researched then there would be no way to know which without doing the math (which takes all of 2 seconds) but at least then you'd know they had a dominant gene that affects bite -- without needing to be researched.

Plus I think ADs placed on the auction listing would just be annoying and clutter up the page.

I agree with Perfy.

If people sold researched pets at all you'd see a serious increase in the average price if people were smart enough to cover their costs. 2k for fully researched pets, plus the variable cost of vermillion - all just to cover the investment of research, let alone what they want to charge to actually turn a profit on the animal. It's why the search filter options are nearly useless in the pet sales.

Lack of researched sales and even breeding offers is tedious - more often than not I'm finding myself negotiating with other breeders directly rather than using surfing for sales and breeding offers.

Not that something like this will compensate for the lack of researched sale animals, but it would be nice to hear people try to sell why I should buy their 5k black-statted cockatrice in a common color. Don't want it to be cluttered? Do a character limit of maybe 30-40 characters. Should be enough for a brief, concise sentence.

All in all, support.

I collect and breed cockatrice - See my wanted ad if you're willing to breed or sell your cockatrice!

That's a cool idea! It could help draw in attention and further direct people to what they want.

I support the short little ads, but how about instead of 30-40 we make it 20-30 so as not to create some space being taken up on the page.

Maybe there should be an ad-filter, too to go along with already exsisting filter? It could be optional, though.

Search for [Cheap]

Then pets fitted with ads mentioning the word(s) "cheap" would appear.

I like the ad filter idea, pretty nice.

I definitely want a character limit, in the suggestion I recommend 20-30. I don't want paragraphs appearing, just short, abrupt, sentences.

I support the idea of an ad filter. I normally just type in the breed I want, sort by buyout price and go from there.

Maybe just "tags" a person can enter, researched genes, stats, and colors show automatically, and then the user can add information.

I also think we should be able to search for specific levels and statistics. Say I want a unicorn that has 67 intelligence... well I'd search for +67 intelligence or something, or if I wanted a level 18 or higher Gryphon... I'd search for +18lvl, Gryphon.

Obviously this idea needs more work and we would have to sort out what tags apply for what if it were implimented.

Always looking for Expand Stable Scrolls
