I just managed to recover this pet http://beastkeeper.com/pet/218607 after accidently pounding her. I'm so glad I found her again because she has lots of good genes and no bad ones.

Darn near everytime you get a non-common color from the map the pet always has crappy genes. THIS NOT ONE OF THOSE CASES.

Ok my gateway breeing fodder program unis just bred out a deviant..I think, he has the star next to the colour name and stars next to his gene colour...of course it would be a fodder foal, but yay!

Found the fertility shrine while exploring, and decided to use it.

Wild pet with three red stats and unresearched genes. Didn't expect much... but somehow the chick ended up with dominant Musical Beak, Watchman, Smart, Strong, and Thick Skin, plus several good recessive genes. Which actually makes it better than most of my Rocs.
I guess you can never tell just by looking at the stats...

Today I found a black GP3 uni with fragrance and regeneration 4 minutes before her auction ended. http://beastkeeper.com/pet/341595 I found her just in time to buy her and between 2 now possible quests from today and tomorrow I'll actually be ahead by 6k silver.
Additionally, my lvl 5 townhall is finally under contruction.
