Here's a question for everyone to chew over: What happens after degeneration reaches 3? I mean, if the degeneration number disappears to start over, could you conceivably still be able to tell it's an inbred baby by the stats? Or do you think the Genetic Power/Degeneration number might be expanded in the future?

I'm going to see what happens with that, eventually. It's on my to-do list, just not very far up it.

just so you know, i plan to try and breed a unicorn foal with genetic power 1 and degeneration 1........tho will have to wait til my mare has her foal tomorrow......

I actually fail to see how those babies have a degenaresence.

Sure it sounds bad, but there doesn't seem to be any negative effect on their stat... I expected to see... I don't know... -5 to all or something (since genetic power 1 give +10 to all)

I might even consider inbreeding myself if it doesn't do more than that...

Well, the way I see it, it doesn't necessarily have to have a negative effect. It's probably just a way to measure the inbreeding of the baby. How many of us have played on a site where everyone flipped their lids when they saw the pet they bought/bred/bred with had an inbreeding percentage, whether there was a negative effect attached or not? I know I have.

This probably is just a way for people to see how inbred a pet is off the bat, so they have the option and don't have to sift through the pedigrees. It makes sense to have it :)

I bred a cockatrice I bought with one I found in the breeding trades and ending up with Lv2 degen pet without realizing it. I don't mind since her stats are good, but now I know to be more careful.

What's odd about her is that her parents don't have any gene that would affect bite damage, yet hers is in the red. I wonder if a bad gene appeared due to her Lv2 degen.

@ lililira: Yeah, I think if you hover your mouse over the question mark, it says any bad recessive genes are automatically made dominant and it's -10 to stats. 

I hope there aren't any random mutations, though, that would suck a bit.

If you look at her extended pedigree, you'll see how delightfully inbred she actually is xD. You can really appreciate it if you CTRL+F the page and type in Boneless, Evensong, Dulce, Shoreline, ect. 

After all that inbreeding, I'll probably end up breeding her to a totally unrelated hero when she herself is a hero. XD
