Windpaw attacked as well, slashing at the cat that had first attacked Forestpaw. She body slammed him and crushed him as she jumped on him. She thought she heard a bone break as she crashed in top of him.

Forestpaw yowled and bit hard into the enemy cats leg. It yowled but bit into Forestpaw's shoulder.

Windpaw left the groaning cat on the ground as she lunged for the cat that seemed to be getting the best of Forestpaw. She tackled him, but misjudged her leap. They tumbled, and the enemy cat landed on top of her.

Forestpaw yowled as the cat ripped the flesh on his shoulder. His eyes watered and he stumbled to his paws.

Windpaw was almost helpless as the other cat ripped at her shoulders and stomach. Surprisingly, he didn't go for the death kill. She hadn't learned the flipping manevuer that got other cats off of you yet.

Despite his pain, Windpaw needed help. He leaped onto the other cat and dug his fangs and claws into its back and scruff.

Windpaw rolled away from the tumble as the other cat's weight w lifted off of her. She bounced up again and then was pushed down again by the other cat. She threw him off and began clawing at him, not killing wounds, but painful ones.

The cat Forestpaw had attacked bucked, but he just held tighter. Until finally his strength faltered and he went flying off. He bashed into a tree with a CRACK! And slid down the trunk, unconsious.

Windpaw watched, horror-stricken, as Forestpaw flew through the air. She left the cat she had been attacking on the ground in a pool of blood, although not all of it was his. She lunged for the other cat and missed as he dodged. She bounced up again and went over to stand by Forestpaw's body, hissing. "Leave," she spat, "before I kill both of you." The cats ran as fast as their failing bodies could carry them towards Scratchclan territory.

Forestpaw's consciousness floated through blackness. Although, the blackness felt oddly comforting. He didn't feel pain, regret, or.... well anything.
