'I don't know..." He took a step, the ice cracked more. He froze, If he fell in..... No. He didn't want to think about that.

Rory was breathing too quickly for it to be normal. The ice was breaking under Chase's feet, and the cracks were spreading, making it impossible to get to him. 

"Chase!!!" 

The ice was breaking all around them... 

Sara ran out, "Hold still!" She shrieked, she ran over to them on the ice, nimbly avoiding the cracks. "This whole area might break if you move on the wrong spot. Follow me, and step EXACTLY where I step." She said as she inspected the ice and walked carefully along it.

Faelin nodded, "I would, but..." She looked down, the ice cracks had spread everywhere, she was completely trap.

"Step around the cracks as carefully as you can! Avoid the lighter patches too" Sara said.

Faelin nodded, she tried to step around the cracks. She got a little ways, but not very far before she stepped and a spot and heard cracking noises. She looked at the girl who had come to help.

"GAH!!" Where Chase was standing, the ice broke and he jumped to a small block, it driffted away from the edge and deeper into the lake where it was just an icy frosting.

Faelin looked over as the blond boy drifted on an ice chunk towards the centee of the lake. "I'm a first year, I don't know any spell, do you know any that would help?" She asked the other girls.

Chase stayed completely still, hoping the Giant Squid wouldn't notice the lone student floating on a piece of ice the size of a pillow.

"Would a levitation spell work? We could levitate the peice of ice he is on!" Sara shouted. She shrieked as the peice of ice she stood on threated to break apart, throwing her to the ground.

Chase took a step back, judging the distance to see if he could jump- But misjudged and stepped back into the ice-cold water. He gasped as he was plundged under.

"Chase! Are you kidding me?!?!!?! I go skating for the first time, and this happens!!!!! You can't die!!!"

Rory whisked out her wand and pointed at the place Chase had fallen. Her hands were sweating despite the cold, and they were shaking. "W-wingardium leviosa!!!!!"

Chase sank into the freezing water, he tried swimming up but he had no luck. Then he felt himself get lifted out of the freezing cold water into the freezing cold air- And immediatly started shivering.

Sara looked up as Rainbow flew down to help her. The baby dragon grabbed Sara's arm and pulled her back up, "Thanks girl..." Sara said, stroking the beautiful dragon.

Rory pulled Chase out of the water, then dropped him on the shore. He was shivering dangerously.
