Tundra Island Mini Guide
When the trees grow bare and the air bites the wintry times have come and the tundra portal opens. Once again this portal network will open for the beastlords to challenge their strongest pets and conquer the tundra!
This guide elaborates fully on how the tundra functions, the encounters you will face, the special resources you can gather, and some useful hints.
Levels
-->
To get to the next level you need to beat the guardian who is guarding a green portal. Once you are standing on the portal the portal icon in the exploration log will turn green. Clicking this will bring you to the next level.
Going to the each next level takes away one portal energy cell from your inventory. It does not take away from island memory or pet's energy however.
There is not always a portal to the next level on every island. It is a matter of chance if there is or not, but almost every island will have a portal. Low level pets have trouble finding portals to the higher levels.
The monsters get slightly stronger with each level. This adds up to make a incredibly strong enemy on the high levels.
Monsters
Etelia are found at island levels of 8 and up. They can use an array of moves and are as strong and stronger than the red guardians. More than one can show up on a single island. Beating an Etelia gives a Crystalline Ice.
They have many tricky genes, all of which you must battle against depending on which Etelia you encounter. You can see a list of their genes in the genetic library in order to prepare for them.
Other Monsters
The monsters on the island get stronger with each level. Several types of them have special moves and regeneration so keep an eye out. At much higher levels their dodge becomes insane with them dodging amost every attack, and they can kill you with one hit. Make sure to bring your toughest pets.
Raiju
Normal Guardian
Sitting in the middle with battle difficultly, they hit hard but their health is easy to whittle away.
Bones
Akhlut
Normal Guardian
The akhult are the easiest monsters on the tundra.
If faces against an akhult or a ram, the akhult will be the better option.
Bones
Woolly Unicorn
Normal Guardian
The rams are one of the most difficult encounters.
They have a lot of health that can be difficult to down.
Along with regeneration and attacks that cause large damage.

Resources
Lykos eggs are usually found at medium levels and up, but you can be lucky and find one at lower levels. They are hidden behind guardians in place of the chest. Lykos eggs are rare to find so don't get frustrated if you don't find one right away.
Pure Snow can be found in chests, on the ground, and in buildings like the traveling shop. You can enter it into the Astrologist's to be able to find even more. It is a common resource. It can also come as a trophy from distant travels when completing a quest.
Crystalline Ice is given when you beat an Etelia (lvl8+ islands). One ice per Etelia, even for harvester throdama. Once you get to that level you can expect to see a fair amount of etelia. The amount you see increases with each level but so does their strength in battle.
Pristine Snowflake comes from level 10+ islands and can only be picked up once, forever. It can be found on the ground behind a guardian in the place of a chest. If you were unable to pick it up upon first seeing it and you had to leave it behind it will be able to drop again on another island. Once you do pick it up they will not appear ever again.

General Tips and Tricks
These are things that I found useful in my tundra travels and perhaps you will too.
At higher levels avoid conflict. If you have to take a detour across the entire island instead of entering a battle, do it. Those few extra seconds spent is better than losing energy that can be spent defeating the portal guardian or an etellia.
Switch to manual setting in higher levels so you can use you pet's strongest attack and monitor the battle.
To tackle the high levels bring the strongest pet you have. Highest genetic power, best genes, no negatives. If you start to run out of energy you can stop and let your pet rest on the island. They can regain energy while on an island or in the middle of a battle.
When you see an energy fountain wait until you are ready to leave for the next level before using it. Unless you need it right away, finish the island first then take a drink to take full advantage of the energy regain.
Use a pet with acute eyesight or a traveling magicians invite to be able to see if guardians have an egg or portal behind them. You can save energy by chosing these battles wisely.
Beat the guardian blocking the next level portal before clearing the rest of the island. That way you already have the door open and can leave anytime, such as if that darn etelia just wont back down.
Tilt your computer screen back to create constrast and be able to see the snow piles easier. They blend in with the snow of the enviorment and are easy to miss.
Pure Snow can be entered into the Astrologist. This makes finding it much easier.
Another way to tackle the islands is to take a pet with song of peace and only use it on the guardian who is blocking the green portal. You can use it once per level. This works mostly in the sense that you can take it to the higher levels quickly to find the snowflake, and use the song on the guardian blocking it.
Using song of peace on an Etelia will not reward a crystalline ice!
