From the portal :/

I'm about 80% sure you can't get the last blueprints from explore. So to get just one of the new building upgrades, you need to hold the portal for at least 5 days and have crazy luck to get exactly what you need (Lulz, not likely). Probably, people will need to buy portal items from each other to upgrade their buildings, but since this is all new and there's not many portal items in existence... no one will be able to upgrade their buildings for a very long time.

as there are not many portals. For the game going live, 1 portal (on just 1 map) will be probably not enough. Imagine 10x times as many users, the battlefield will turn to a slaughterfield.

True... Really should be a bit better way...

Maybe a 1/20 chance of finding a portal on an uncharted island? Guarded by a strong hero pet like the beast shrines? Except you can fight it until you run out of energy, that'd be great. It would make it just as difficult as the portal on the tactical map, but as it stands right now, getting items from the portal just isn't feasible. At minimum it'd take 50 hours, provided you even get the correct items you need rather than 'useless' ones for making schemes and blueprints you don't have yet.

Sure, it'd encourage trading among people sitting on the portal, but... dunno if I'd want to trade those rare items in the first place in case I DO get the right blueprint/scheme. A bit of a catch 22.

just thinking of a worst case scenario... for the game going live once in future, I think even trading among people around the portal won't help much as I doubt any kind of alliance will be possible for a live game with more users than now.

every single one of them hot for a certain portal item s/he might be looking for in that moment... squads attacking each other continously, with none of them having even the slightest chance to sit there for longer than, say, half an hour :-) no portal item for anyone, not much to trade with...

OK, feel free to call me a Kassandra, but I am just thinking of that one map with one portal, 10x as many users and just a few among them who belong to a certain very determined kind of typical frantic PvP players - - -

if this thread turned hot for a couple of posts a few days ago, it might be nothing compared to the flaming posts in a live game when the battlefield gets more populated and the real slaughter begins

Well, I'd rather try and maintain the peace, and if people wanna maintain peace, then sure, but at least we have a somewhat steady alliance going around here.

better peace than war, I'd prefer a civil manner agreement than and slaughterhouse, not saying everyone may necessaryily agree, but the ones who do, meaning you guys who are part of this, at least we can keep a nearly calm and civil manner over this and figure something out.

Angel did say that the number of tactics maps would increase w/ more tactics players, so I don't see a giant userbase as being a problem if it'll get us more portals. (Here: http://beastkeeper.com/thread/3184/2#27928) Going along the topic of trading portal items though - I kind of see these items as priceless, and while I'd be willing to trade a portal item for a portal item, I feel slightly concerned selling mine away for any amount of silver, even when the other party has promised to sell me their item too. Just dealing on promises... I don't trust it. There needs to be an item/item trading system. :/

Yeah, especially since the value of such items. I mean, they must cost more than what a lot of people have right now. It would be really helpful if they had a item to item system

Agreed. There's always the risk of the other person waiting for you to give your item in trade and then refusing to trade you anything back.

I have no idea what happened. The little site issue earlier screwed up some times, since the tactics map is telling me that I'll get my trophies in 12 hours <_< Didn't post it in the bug forums, since it'll probably just resolve itself.
