"Mercenary Troop is looking for a strong (38) Bird as a talisman pet"

If I were to accept this quest, would I be surrendering my bird over to the Mercenary Troop, or like other quests, it would take a few hours to complete?

Simple quest. It says talisman pet.

However, I'm wondering, when it asks for a Throdma with available Warrior Pheromone, is it going to take it away?

I was asking about another pet quest, but as to your question, basically it says it will use the pet as a model, a talisman. Look up the definition.

But it is just like any other quest, it takes four hours to complete, but you still keep the pet.

I didn't see your other questions. Species can't crossbreed, and you can go to Help–>FAQ to see more. Otherwise, there are plenty of those questions already asked and answered in the Help forums, you just have to look around a bit.
