Hi friends! 

I just joined this site about half an hour ago (I came from good ole' Flight Rising). I really love the different creatures here (especially Lykos omg *drool*  cannot wait to own one someday *-*) 

But I'm also slightly confused about the fighting style (and have been losing many battles lol). I read the FAQ. But maybe I'm just not understanding the style. For exploration battles its more luck based I suppose? 

Anyway! I just wanted to say hello! If you have any tips or anything I would greatly appreciate it!

As for fighting style, do you mean arena, battlefield, or explore?

For explore battles, it's just another variation of Rock-Paper-Scissors with some modifiers like in classic RPGs (resists, controls, DoTs, crits etc. - depends on the build of a specific monster / pet). There's a certain portion of luck when fighhting mobs, you're right, but it's not that big. Mobs have no AI and will equally use their rock-paper-scissors (or bite-blow-rush in game terms). Players on Arena can change the priorities of each battle move. Each type of monster has its own genetic pool which is a copy of one of the pet species, so you know in advance what abilities may be used against your pet. It's more about target breeding and training your pets than luck. Starter pets are pretty weak, but right now it's easy to skip a lot of tedious breeding and get better pets from other players or even from Pound (one per day) and forget about the starters.

Hello, I'm new here. Can anybody explain how to be able to explore more places? I only have the grasslands available. Can you ping people so they'll notice your forum post? I'm from Egg Cave where you can do that. @Imitatia how do you pm people?

The other areas in Explore are greyed out because you haven't selected them, not because you can't explore there. Click on a different biotope, and that will be the active one you will go to when you enter the portal. 

Unfortunately there's no way of pinging people. It's a bit annoying. But you can subscribe to threads so that you receive an email every time the thread updates, so that's the closest thing we have. 

You can send PMs and check your inbox by clicking on the little link near the top right-hand corner of the page next to the symbol of an envelope, which reads "0 unread", or however many unopened messages you have. This link should also take you there if you're having trouble finding it. You can also message someone by going to their profile page and clicking the "Send Message" button right below their profile picture.
