How do I use my referal link to refer a friend? Do I copy and paste then send it to them?

You can do that. For my friends at school I just told them to use my specific numbers at the end and they did, no need for copying and pasting.

Of course, that it what it is there for :)
Obviously we want this to be for real friends, and not accounts that members create and keep creating (which is against the rules and we are good at finding that out).
