I keep meaning to make this. I see so much crazy stuff happening on islands both good and bad. I'm sure you do too, so let's all share! :D

Here I was worring if I would get a fertility shrine today, and I didnt even have to take a step. Yay!

I haven't been taking screenshots, but everywhere my pets have gone today the enemies were mostly the full 5 levels above them, and lots of guardians.  Really not amusing when I'm repeatedly barricaded near the portal by things I can't kill.   Pets with a few levels can deal with it, but I took a poor level 1 out twice, and everything was 4-5.

I found a fertility shrine the first time I went to the desert.  I didn't know what it was until I poked it.

Sometimes you can dance around the monsters and still get to the island. Or pick the lowest level one of the several blocking an area.

i imagined the shrine exploding as you said you poked it.

Am I the only one who finds exploring a tedious necessity?

Nope, I'm with you here, podge. I pretty much can only explore when I need resources now (mainly vermillion), and only when the cost is too high (1k each). Otherwise, only other time I explore is if there is an event.

I don't take screenshots but I only explore in desert now with my girls (for the vermillion)and love it when I encounter fertility shrine. 10 vermillion + a baby to pound for half the research cost. Sometimes I am lucky and I get a deviant baby to sell for researching funds. (I am perpetually broke)

I found this on an island fairly recently.  As someone said in the last thread on this subject, "Being a guardian...You're doing it wrong."

Forgive me for being a bit thick MeanDM but what did you find? I see nothing strange on your screenshot.

I hate when some of my weaker pets get stuck on islands... bad luck brian here (attacked monster was the weakest of the buch XD).

Podge, look at where that guardian monster is.  It can't possibly be protecting a chest from that position, because there's only one direction to attack it from, and no space behind it.

Cheers for that it makes sense now. I'd not looked at the beast codex so was unaware that some monsters were gaurdians.

adgin, you being stuck on an island reminds me of when some monsters decide to squat themselves down on the tile right next to the entrance/exit portal, effectivly blocking the entire island and leaving no tiles to go around. And then it is a powerful monster, and my pet trying to beat it is weak and the pet never gets to go onto the island.

Finding a higher-level Guardian positioned to block off half of the island.  Okay, my active pet has regen so I'll get through, right?
