I'm still a relatively new player (despite my account's creation date =#) and I stumbled across some questions I couldn't answer with guides~

#1 The Astrologist building - I built it, since I could :P It's suppose to heighten your chances of encountering a specific item that you choose, but I can't see any place to choose an item. I thought there would be a clickable link in explore or on the building page, but nope. I've checked all tabs, I just have no clue where it is :P please point me in the right direction.

#2 Triggers - I noticed a thread on this or the previous page of the help forum that mentioned setting triggers and included a screenshot. Looks very neat, but I can't seem to find this anywhere either? =# Starting to think I may be kinda blind.

#3 Pyramids - Is it just me, or is the chance of getting cursed an awful lot bigger than the chance of getting a blessing? I've visited the building about 10 times with pets in explore, and got cursed 10 times. Maybe it's just my horrible luck, but I'd love to know if it's wiser to avoid this building e.e

.. I had some other question as well, but I can't seem to remember =# I'll make another post if I do.

Edit: I remembered! :D

#4 Inbreeding - What kind of relationships between pets result in inbreeding? Full siblings and parent/child, I'm guessing, but it seems to be more extensive?
In addition, does inheriting degeneration work the same as inheriting GP, when it just concern the offspring of inbred pets that aren't inbred directly themselves (like, would it take three generation of babies inheriting at least 7 the other "healthy" parent's dominant traits, reducing a star each generation, for a fully healthy pet to get born? This is how I imagine it would work, but that seems very tedious. Similarly, are stars added for each consecutive generation of being inbred again, or does it depend on how distantly related the pets are (like parent/child results in a whopping 3 DG starred baby)?

Sorry for all the questions =#

Thanks in advance!

Okay, for the astrologist. Go to Manor, Buildings, scroll until you find this (I shrunk the image)Astrologist (lvl 3)

Click its name. There it will have a box allowing you to type in /select what item you want to look for. Maybe the link to mine will work for you. http://beastkeeper.com/item/?item[id]=1094388

Triggers are for premium members only. It will be under the account tab when/if you get premium membership.

I always stay away from the pyramids unless I am with a GP level 50 pet. I have noticed they tend to curse more than bless.

There is a lot to explain about degeneration, maybe someone else who knows more about it can explain. All I know it to not breed lines together that have the same parent in thier pedigree, no matter how far away it is from the child.

Degeneration looks through three generations from the kid and adds a star if someone from the mom's side overlaps with someone from the dad's side. So you only need to care about the parents and grandparents of the pet you'd like to breed. Its more simple than GP inheritance :P

For example:
Pet A - Parents C,D, Grandparents E, F, G, H
Pet B - Parents I, J, Grandparents K, L, M, H

Child of Pet A and B will get a degen, because of H. But if Pet A breeds with a wild pet to get Pet Z, and then Pet Z breeds with Pet B? Pet H is kicked out of Z's line, and no degen will happen.

Also, Degen goes up max 1 star every time degeneration happens, but also goes down max 1 star every time there's no degeneration. So the best a Degen 3 parent can hope for is a Degen 2 child. And zero-degen parents can't make any worse than Degen 1 children.

Each degen level adds 10 gene power to bad genes, making them more likely to become dominant, and also adds a 20% chance to introduce bad genes on each category. (40% for Degen 2, 60% for Degen 3)

^ Probably need confirmation on those %s. Last I heard it was 10, 20, 30%, but its been doubled from an update since that time.

Thank you both so much! (Clicking on the name, who would've thought of that =# Certainly not me).

Just one question to clarify what Aelisk explained: what exactly does it mean to say "20% chance to introduce bad genes on each category"?

-It increases the odds that bad genes of the parents are inherited instead of neutral or good ones (aside from whether they become dominant or not)

-It adds a 20% chance to introduce a new bad gene that is on neither of the parents.

I thought the first option, but since you used the word "introduced" rather than "inherited"...?

Second option, it replaces what you had with a bad gene.

Aka, if you have a Steel bones/Steel bones pet mating with another Steel bones/Steel bones pet. Normally its 100% chance of getting a Steel bones child, but with Degen 1, there's a 20% chance the child will have something like Steelbones/Fragile bones instead of Steelbones/Steelbones.

And this happens for every single category (Jaws, Sense Organs, Brain, etc.)
