Since many people complain that they've accidently pounded their pets, why dont we have a feature where we can favorite our pets and that will make so that we cant pound our pets.

i also had another idea...something about the auction system...cant remember.

By the title alone I thought this meant something else. And I figured "Yah know? I'd live to favorite other peoples pets that o frequently use for breeding but hate having to go through individual pet profiles. It would be nice to save pets, or pairings... Even if it was a favorite feature. Or just a kinda "notepad"... This is a fantastic idea".

But now I see it is about something else. And I support that too. Though I would call it another name, maybe "locking" a pet so it cannot be traded,or SPSB'd or pounded. It would be nice because people would know it certainly isn't for sale... I think this is a good idea :)

Speaking of accidents with pounded pets...

There's an adopt pet button on the profile of pounded pets now. If you can get to the the profile somehow, you can adopt your pet back.

If your lost pet has children, you can get to its profile by looking at the parents of its child. If your lost pet has parents, you can find the lost pet by looking at the children page of the parents.

Even if your idea doesn't go through, you can do some pseudo-favoriting by putting links of 'favorited' pets on some unused pet's profile. That way if they get pounded, you'll always be able to get them back.

I don't know how someone can accidently pound a pet when it has a pop up asking are you sure, and none of the buttons near that pound button does the same thing besides the SPSB. Also having that option now to adopt back the pet if a brain fart happens or someone just wants something to whine about nearly makes this idea unuseful unless more is built onto it.

Nightingale, what I do is write down pairings I like for that pet on the pet's profile with a link to the other pets or the ID number of the other pets. Usually with a short description for each ID number.

So, for your idea and who has commented so far, say there is a box next to their name or a seperate area with a drop down box of all pets are to be clicked for favoriting. Once favorited, the SPSB, Pound, and possibly trades button would be faded out, unclickable as if the pet were busy? And if someone went to make an offer for that pet, those options would be faded out, making a pretty huge hint to not contact the owner about purchasing the pet. Could also say not for sale in the pet's description, but I guess not many people look at or use that feature as much as I do.

Hrm, could make a seperate area completly (maybe under account) to have the list of your own and other people's pets that have been favorited? Especially if it has the name linked, and a short description able to be written if wanted.

This idea has much potential if implicated nicely.

What this suggestion was meant to do was the just only disable the pound button and possibly the Auction button, how ever players can still make offers on other peoples favorited pets but they need to unfavorite the pet in order to actually trade.

Aelisk, but what if that lost pet doesnt have any children? Or perhapes its the child who went missing instead of its parents and it hasn't bred with another female/male?

Nightingale, I quiet agree with changing 'favoriting' to something else, I got the idea from another game so it doesnt really sound "correct" when saying it in this game.

Hope that kind of cleans some things.

I think having the pet listed in your reports would be a good way to track them. Then you knew which pet went to where.

I've only accidentally pounded one pet. I was trying to put it up to fight and I clicked pound. The little popups don't seem to like me and I didn't have a prompt. Though now I am realizing my graphics tablet has a button stuck in on it which caused other weird things to happen. On other sites I've had accidental things happen because I was up too late and tired, or my cat likes to sit with me and presses the ocassional button o.o

I had second thoughts about pounding a pet today - Got it back instantly by clicking its name in that message you get after you send them to the pound

Nameless has been sent to the pound

Click its name, click adopt. Was super easy. I don't think accidentally pounding pets is a problem anymore. It'd be nice to have pounded pets listed as a report though - then people would be able to adopt them back even if they had second thoughts much later.

@Monuses, Two or more of someone's pets can look the same. You could accidently pound the one you wanna keep.

I am a huge Skyrim fan. I even have a roleplay thread for skyrim. Here is my persons picture.

Brainiac moment, what if you could add a list of pets (favorite or whatever) by going under 'My Account' then clicking something that said 'Tracking'.  You put the pet ID's there and there you could track your pets of where the go.  This would not only be good for accidental pounding, but I find it annoying as all heck when you lend someone a pet and then they dont give it back and lend it to another person and people dont remember who they lended it to yada yada and you never get your pet back.

Another idea have a lending system.  On the pet profile add another button by 'Pound', 'Gift Pet', 'Private Sell' and all the other magical buttons.  But have that button say 'Lend Pet'.  Then have the normal PM thing pop up and fill out the boxes like so, kinda.  Anyways you could set the time like when you set up an auction, select a pet like for a quest and the rest is pretty much self explaintory.

I think it would be nice if pets had a history of owners in their profile.

But I agree, I'd like them to show up in reports with clickable links (especially if you pounded them).

I do support the lending thing though. While I have no problem lending things to people- What if something happens and they don't come online anymore, yet still have your pet?

Nightingale, thats why I said there could possibly be a time limit so once that limit is up the pet comes back to you.

The problem with that tho is that if the pet is still crafting or on a quest.  I think maybe if the time limit is up and its doing something it might come back to you after that task is done. Maybe, possibly, that would be a lot of more editing to the website tho.
