I built the cartograpers guild yesterday and as a result plus a bit of luck I have caught two Roc, Two Puma, one Dragon and one Unicorn.

However the last two weeks I have seen no animals at all. Is it not uncomon to find no animals on the map at all for a couple of goes?

There are unicorns, a roc, dragon, and gryphon up on my screen right now. Sometimes the cartographer's magnifying class will go off. Click it to make sure it is on and showing the pet's location.

I've tried turning it on and off a dozen times and still I don't see any animals. Also Ive had three catchers out the last two times and the log say nothing there in each of the locations where I sent my catchers.

My magnifying glass turns on and off so thats not the problem. Just as an aside would our animals be in the same locations? I was thinking I may have exhusted the Pumas and Rocs and had to wait for them to regenerate.

I'm not sure if it is the same for everyone. Maybe they are taking a break because you caught too many? Gryphon is on the island, roc is at western field, unicorn at the tree, waterfall, and eastern field, and dragon at the waterfall.

Is this normal do you think?

I'll quote what Angel said a long time ago, because I will mix it up otherwise:

"When user catches a pet, the new pet gets a counter up to 8 cycles (32 hours) when it will be spawned. After the counter gets to zero, a random pet species rolls depending on what dens are free."

Each cycle is four hours. You will probably need to give it some more time :)
