There is a player who has been offline for 2 years. They also have a pet I would like to have. I sent a message a while back about purchasing thier pet, in hopes they someday return.

Is that all I can do in such a situation?

Not that I know of. Besides, if the power to transfer a pet exists like that, it would not be ethical to take it from another user without their consent. If the user ever came back then they would be at loss for their pet. To take it would wrong them. It does happen, users do come back. I've done it myself on some sites. And on the other end of the spectrum people have responded to messages that I've sent about a pet or item.

Unfortunately, that is the best I have. Sorry.

I shall wait for as long as it takes then! If only I knew thier email or where else they played. I hope they did'nt completly forget about this game.

Well, if the user has notifications turned on... then they would be emailed when they receive your message. Without divulging someone's personal information, I suppose that is the closest we get. I'm not sure if the default is to email users with news notifications though.

I know Angel sent out mass emails when the game left beta stage, we had some returners then. Maybe any future large updates that denote a mass email could stay them back.
