I rescue a pet every time I'm on beaskeeper, I've got like a half of my pets are from the pound and I got a golden cockatrice and a silver spotted cockatrice from there! So you should try rescuing. If your pet has a family and one of their members is in the pound, try to rescue them.

I check the pound button every hour to see if I can adopt a new pet and I adopt a new pet everyday. There are lots of good pets in the Pound too, like last time I got a Symurgh with generation power 2 and no bad genes.

P.S. You spelled Symurgh wrong in the Poll

The pound has lots of good pet. For example, my highest level pet happens to be from the pound.

@Wisteria
I am new here, and I do agree with this. I found this really
great gryphon, with no bad stats, in the pound and he's now the
patriarch of my gryphon family, I am glad to say. :)
I picked up a few gambles from the pound as well where their
names didn't alert me to the fact that they had a red star or two
but I am still keeping them.
Actually, some of my best pets have a red star or two. There's a
dragon in my dragon family group who has tough scales and can go
berserk, and there's a unicorn who has a blinding magical horn,
and they both have red stars on them.

Yeah, I found a Symurph that has GP3 on it! So happy about that but also confused. Who would want to get rid of a pet like that?

I may have an answer for this... I recently adopted a GP 3 symurgh and she had a negative tactic and lower intelligence than normal. She didn't have any degeneration though so that was good. I presume some people get rid of pets with neg tactics like that often
