Essences are dropped from the treasure chests on islands. They're quite rare as I see.

Thanks bird, I just found an essense of death from a gp building, so it looks like they're added to the premium item drop list.
Edit: Also a magic shop.

...yep, that went about as well as I expected.
Ah well. Most of those tasks seem doable. Though 300 vermillion is quite a lot, and so far I haven't found any essences (after exploring ~20 islands).
The sacrifice seems a bit grisly. I think I'll just capture wild pets for that...

Yeah. I'm breeding some pets. Too bad I -just- cleaned my stables!
300 Vermillion is a bit steep. I was so happy to finally get up to 200!
Holding the locations for 10hrs is going to be the hardest one for me. That and I don't have one of those cockatrices.
I should get some energy flow cards so I can explore more.

I have one question, though. Will we be feeding our pets still? because gathering 500 food items and managing to hold onto them.....

You can sacrifice the food in batches, it'll be gone from your inventory and your pets won't be able to eat it.

I hope I'll be able to get the essences I need to craft the scythe since Death's tasklist is the only one I have a chance at completing.
BTW, If we complete all the tasks from a Kami's list will we get that one or do we have to clear them all to get them?

Vythalax, Kami are obtained one by one. It's enough to complete the tasks for one Kami in order to get it.

The essences are extremely rare drops from the islands. I explored about 45 today, and only found one essence. And that's with portal-level astrologist.
...so seems like it's going to be mostly up to luck whether anyone will be able to collect them in time.
