I'm on level 14 but the Etelia is difficult. What is auto hit?

Etelia come with a number of hard-to-counter genes, such as Silent Pace which will grant them a critical hit on their first attack (provided they land the first shot). 

Level 14 is quite a high level so expect very difficult battles from there and in higher levels.

I'm finding my most versatile pets are still Ice breath lykoses with elemental resistance. Acute eyesight, counterstrike, steel bones, hound, and tireless heart really help. Having 15 energy is fab.

Hey shy413, if you're wondering why portals won't turn up, take a look at what Monues said here:

Levels

To get to the next level you need to beat the guardian who is guarding a green portal. Once you are standing on the portal the portal icon in the exploration log will turn green. Clicking this will bring you to the next level.

Going to the each next level takes away one portal energy cell from your inventory. It does not take away from island memory or pet's energy however.

There is not always a portal to the next level on every island. It is a matter of chance if there is or not, but almost every island will have a portal. Low level pets have trouble finding portals to the higher levels.

Though I do wonder why my level 50 Friendship got blocked at level 5 when I took him exploring today [hmm]

Yes that is wierd, when storm was level ONE she made it all the way up to level 12 :/
