You can input Pure Snow into your astrologist building btw. Though I get so much of it that I just have Granite in it 24/7.

Also, Firehawk I'm not sure butternut will be good for tundra, how is he working out though?

Butternut is managing, however blood apple is doing much better, shes already defeated 5 etelia, and lyko has defeated 2, i started energy rationing butternut yesterday

Any tips and/or strategies for beating monsters that are 4-5 levels higher or lower than you? My cocatrice got wiped twice before beating the same lvl 31 creature. She has acid spit and does fine until she gets to level 9-10 in the tundra and then it's a pain because I've only managed to kill one Etelia, I want a blasted snowflake already, and I lose more (or end in a draw) more than I win now. I don't have enough portal cells at the moment to have more than one gp3 pet run through the tundra and she's my highest leveled pet now.

Cockatrice have this neat 2 shot trick, where you use blow/rush to poison, and then immediately acid strike afterwards. Should wipe out most of the monsters if both attacks land. 

Other than that avoid conflict whenever possible to save your energy for portal guardian or the etelia. If you need to take a detour all the way around the island, do that. More worth than potentially wasting your energy.

Pets will replenish energy if you leave them alone on an island, doesn't matter where. Don't fight at 0 energy too.

I've got one from last year, Mystic Ruby. Technically I like the white ones better but the vermillion ones just look so good :)

Wait 30 days then explore tundra with the etelia. No going to deeper levels, just first level. At some point there should be a popup that asks you to breed your etelia and if you press yes you lose your etelia and get 2 new snowflakes.
