Crystalline Ices are needed to obtain Etelia, which are a pet type that are only available for a limited time. To obtain an Etelia, you need a pristine snowflake (obtained on level 10+ in the Tundra explore, )3 units of liquid deviance, 100 pure snow, and 20 crystalline ice. You also have to sacrifice a Lykos with ice breath and ice aura (the lykos disappears so don't sacrifice anything you don't want to keep.)
