...and now I'm stuck trying to beat a guardian that keeps one-shotting or continually countering me, damnit. Determined pets just don't have a good attack like elemental ones that can blast through their defenses.

edit:magic mirror etelia try to redirect your elemental attack and you repulse it. It's like playing catch.

A whole 11 XP. Grah.

Just found two lvl 54 etelia on lvl 8 island. Luckily, I managed to obliterate both of them with my symurgh. 

And one of them was a stalker :D

Nice.

Why is it that I can always beat the level 54 etelia on my first try, but I spend 14 tries trying to beat a level 48?

Sometimes stubbornness is a good trait to have. Other times your pet loses 78 energy on a single Etelia because you know they beat three on higher levels. :\

Oh, I'm also finding this dude (https://beastkeeper.com/pet/1515334) is doing quite well against etelia (resistance, determined) A lot of the lower level silent pacers and ice aura etelia are struggling agianst his regen and such. Additionally those pesky magic mirrors can't reflect anything, so HA.

So what I'm seeing in battle is mainly:

Air blast has knocked you down!

You repulsed opponent's elemental strike.

You regenerated 45 HP!

Air blast has knocked down your opponent!

Your opponent redirected your power against you! You were hit by Lightning Strike for 153 damage!

Damnit.

Accidentally autobattled an impossible red monster yesterday. Won first kick. 

I was amazed.

I autobattled a guardian that I was stuck on at 0 energy. I won. Was extremely surprised but then almost got my butt kicked by the etelia in the next level before I remembered I have no energy.

Also if something starts to tilt me really bad, I switch to my rage strategy, which is "spam autobattle because I'm an indecisive person and its less stressful to know I lost to something with 2 HP."

Cue this.
