Rory tried to remember her lessons on CPR, but nothing was coming to her. Panic had completely brainwashed her. The demigods fighting the hydra had started to defeat it like Rory had over a month ago. It whipped around, destroying everything in its way. Unfortunately the Trio were in its way.

"LOOK OUT!!!"

Rory pushed Ariana out of the way, and put herself inbetween the tail and Chase. It moved just in time to kill any one, but the razor tip slashed across Rory's face, right across her eyes. She screamed. She was blinded.

Chase floated around in the pitch black. It was nice not feeling pain, did he really want to go back to reality and feel pain? A scream from his friend made him choose. He gasped and coughed up blood. He saw Rory clutching her eyes.

Rory felt a hand touch her arm. She wanted to see who, but she couldn't, and probably never going to again.

"Chase?" She realised there was hardly any sound. The hydra was silenced. The only thing Rory could here was the heavy breathing coming from those who'd been fighting it.

Chase didn't answer-couldn't answer-. He could only lie there. He wanted to see if Rory was ok, but he couldn't speak, he couldn't make a sound.

"Rory, are you ok?" Ariana pulled a small Ambrosia cube out of their only medipack."Rory eat this, if you eat it soon maybe it will heal you..." She glanced at Chase, he was pale and he had his eyes closed, his breaths came more like small shallow gasps. It looked like he needed some too, but they only had one cube....

This was the tuffest decision Ariana had made in her life, but she stuffed the Ambrosia into Rory's mouth."Take it!! He can survive until we get to camp!"

Chase took a shuddering breath. It seemed the only thing the small block of Ambrosia had done was stop him from dying. He heard Ariana shout to some Apollo kids and they rushed over. Ariana gently pushed Rory away from Chase so they could carry him back to camp. The Apollo kids took off their Hoodies and Sweaters and tied them together to form a makeshift stretcher. They lifted Chase's bloody form onto it.
