How Do I Know If A Pet Is Deviant Or Not?

If the pet you have is a deviant, when you look at the color under the 'Stats' tab, it will have an asterisk (*) next to the color.

Here's an example of a deviant I own(sorry if it doesn't show up right, but you get the idea):
