I was browsing through pet trades and I noticed - multiple times this week - that people are actually bidding for DG pets.

The pets has 3 DG stars & the stats are mostly red. I'm a bit confused and some of the pets don't have their genes researched or not a deviant.

I would like to know if there is a reason for buying DG 3 pets? I'm really curious, it's also for me doing business too  (If they sell a lot, I might as well sell instead of pound me DG pets)

Thanks!

Hi

I sometimes buy them because they have a colour asked for iñ quests or because I'm hoping to breed their stats up a bit. Sometimes they're all I can find (lake throdamas all seem to be inbred somehow) and sometimes they're all I can afford :-)

Well it depends on the pet. If it only has one DG I might try to breed up, but if it has 3 and mostly bad stats I might buy it to send to the State Portal Service. That way I get more energy flow cards and an animal with poor genes is removed from the pool.

There are also certain quests that ask for inbred pets. :)

Also, people use bad pets to fight in the Arena, in order to help other people out. They look for especially bad pets (great are pets with Gladiator gene who last longer in the arena, even when losing) and then put them on Auto-fight. That way, other people can fight terrible pets, have a good chance at winning against them and level their mediocre pets (who would normally not win a lot of the fights) up easily.

But yes, usually it's probably because the colour is on the rarer side and hard to get otherwise. Especially if you are a Deviant breeder, you care more that the colour / pattern gene are double than what the rest of the genes look like.

What is the State Portal Service?

It's a building that you build, and then you send pets to it (that you can never ever get back.) Each pet you send gives you five energy flow cards.

An energy flow card allows you a once-off entry to the island portal, so I tend to build up a lot of energy flow cards for future events.

Whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved.

Random acts of senseless kindness.
