I recently tried to search among my own active item exchanges using the searchbar, and found that the function didn't seem to actually do anything. For instance, I would type in "wood" with the expectation of seeing all the trades of wood I was offering, but nothing happened. I tried both fields with the same result. Am I mistaking how it's supposed to work?
