What happens if you win a pet auction, but don't have the stable space?! I have room for two pets and seven on the way!

You'll still get the pets. The stable space limit is flexible to keep you from losing pets, but once the maximum number of pets is actually in your stables, you won't be able to get more until you get rid of a few.
