Hi!  I was wondering what a level bonus is.  I purchased a pet and it has a level bonus (even though it's only at level 4).

I'd really appreciate your help with this!

If you hover over a green or red stat on a pet in the top section of the characteristics area (e.g. Strength, Constitution, etc.), you'll see the total value for that stat broken down into Basic Value and Genetic Modifier, or Pedigree Modifier if you have a GP pet. If you hover over a green or red stat in the lower section ( Bite, Rush, etc.), it works the same way, except the Basic Value is divided into points your pet had at birth and points they gained through leveling.

For example, here's a lvl 1 puma of mine with a gene that improves Bite damage. The Bite damage has a basic value of 17 plus a modifier of 3, and no level bonus.

Here's another puma with a gene that improves Bite damage, but it's level 2. So the Bite damage has a basic value of 20, a modifier of 7, and a level bonus of 2. 

Hopefully that all makes sense.

Edit: I'm realizing that's probably more complicated an answer than you needed. Basically, the pet gets a level bonus every single level they gain, even at low levels.
