Hello. I searched through the Help thread all the way back to 2014 without finding the answer to this, and also didn't see it anywhere in the FAQ, Tutorial, or any of the newbie or breeding guides, so I thought it'd be appropriate to ask.
Today I had 2 pets give birth, which makes my 2 first baby pets in the game. Now, I haven't seen any other babies in the game, so this could just be me jumping to conclusions, but I just wanted to ask to be sure...but, both babies have pretty generic looking images. I wasn't sure if all babies appear a certain color until they grow up and "develop their adult colors/plumage/scales/etc" or if what you see is what you get. My thoughts (especially with the baby Roc) are that, in most species of birds, you have a pretty generic grayish ball of fluff up until the feathers start coming in. Likewise, sometimes it can be hard to tell what color a really young foal will be if you're not sure what you're looking at. And, in some species of reptiles (look up the Green Tree Python, and look for age progression photos) the babies can be COMPLETELY different colors, and they eventually shed out of it to their adult coloration.
So, my point is--is baby coloration just something babies grow out of, or do pets in Beastkeeper display their adult coloration from birth?
I have to tell you, I'm really hoping for "baby coloration goes away to reveal adult coloration when they grow up" because that would be such a neat twist to the game...
One final question:
What do we do with babies while they're growing up? I mean, can I play with them, or train them, or something? Or do they just...sit there?
Thanks everyone!! I appreciate the help. Hate asking questions as my first post, but I really did make my best effort to answer my own questions first.
