They are cool because they get more items from the island! I want them, but they are un-breadable. I havn't bred any Throdamas before.

In order to get Thordama morphs, you'll need at least two thordamas, and fulfill the requirement for them to produce the pheronome of the morph you want.

To make it simple, here is a step by step guide:

1. Get 2 Worker Thordamaes, preferably a male and female

2. Have the male fulfill the tasks, for the pheromone you want, -- can be seen under the Pheromones listing, in the pet's profile-- To get a harvester pheronome you'll need to collect 1000 resources.

3. Put both thordamas in the same group, then breed the female.

4. Go to the female's profile and on the lower left section, you'll see something new, where you can select which pheromone you want to use, to get your desired morph and who will use said pheromone.

5. Wait till the baby is born, and voila, you got yourself a Grade 1 morphed thordama.

Ps. Depending on the grade of the morph, they gain additional 'buffs', and there is a maximum of 3 grades.

This has actually answered some questions that I had.

I have recently rescued two Thordamas from the pound and want to breed a harvester. I know I need to collect 1000 resources, what is the quickest way of doing this?

One Thordama - the male - has had only 6 island visits and has collected 399 resources already.  That seems like a lot from only 6 visits - so is that the only way or am I missing something?

The best way to collect resources is to go to islands that give high amounts of food, since the max in one pile is 20, and I think the minimum is either 10 or 15. Another one is to level the thordama to 50, so that the island is bigger.

Anyways, I'm not sure about what you mean by 'only way', but you need the pheromone, or else you can't make a Morphed Thordama. Also, I'm not sure, but I don't think you'll be able to breed two morphed Thordamas together to get a morphed thordama, so if that's what you're referring to, then yeah, only way to get morphed thordamas are to breed with pheromones.

Lastly, forgot to mention that, in order to get Grades 2 or 3, you'll need that much thordams/pheromones, and in Step 4, select the extra.

Brilliant, I had an inkling that it may have been to do with food, but wasn't sure. Thank you.

Sorry, can you explain the grades 2 and 3 in more detail please?

I think I read something about having more than one male Thordama in the tab with the pregnant female, is that to do with achieving the higher grades?

To simpify it, morphs are specializations and grades are bonus for each specialization.

If you look at my first post, the one with the steps to getting morphs, follow step 3 and place all your thordamas in the group with the female you want to breed, if done right, you'll be able to select up to 3 thordamas, on step 4, then all you have to do is wait and the baby should be grade 2 or 3. I made a post in the player guide about what the thordama morphs do, so you can look there for what grades get, (the higher grades has all the abilities of the lower one as well). -- Might make a guide, maybe with pictures if I can figure out how to do that, for breeding morphs later on, since people seem to keep asking that question lately.

Ahh, I think I understand it now!

A guide would be amazing. Had I known how differently the breeding worked, I'd probably have aquired some sooner.

Breeding and pheromones

Only Workers can breed. Normal breeding produces a larva that will develop into another Worker. Although other Workers can modify the development of the larva by adding specific pheromones to its food. Every Worker can produce 4 types of pheromones, one for each specialized morph. To launch the process of pheromone production, a Worker must face the need of another morphs in his Hive. This happens when Workers have to do the jobs that they are not designated for. The requirements for pheromonesare the following:
  • Warrior - win 50 battles on Arena
  • Scout - visit 20 islands in Explore
  • Defender - lose 50 battles on Arena
  • Harvester - gather 1000 resource units in Explore

A Worker can produce only one pheromone of each type for his whole life.

Workers receive a signal from a female whe she becomes pregnant. They take her egg to the hatchery and start to care about it. If they want to raise a specialized morph, one or several Workers with ready pheromones are staying near the egg and then the larva until it becomes mature.

You can assign 1-3 Workers with ready pheromones to a pregnant female. The more Workers you assign, the higher grade will receive the morph after metamorphosis. The maximum grade is 3. You can change your mind and cancel this baby-sitting or change to the other type of pheromone until the moment of birth. After this you can't modify the chosen pheromone and cancel the brood caring for the baby-sitting Workers until the larva grows up.

All of that information is under the Throdama entry in the Beast Codex, available to all users.

Thanks for the great answers! It helped me! For me, this isn't for the Kami event. I'm not doing the Kami event because A: it doesn't look super good and B: its hard to get.

Anyways, thanks for answering my question (and desori's plus a few more people)
