Hi there, super noob talking.

Ok, so I have a question. Two, to be precise.

Question 1: On occasion when i go exploring, I find a weird, long, fire-breathing draconic monster. I have never defeated it. I checked the codex but was unable to find info on it. What is it?

Question 2: How do i obtain a Lykos, Thordama, or Symurgh? What are they? I'm sorry, this is a noob sort of question but I am clueless.

Thanks for helping!

You can obtain a Lykos, Throdama, or Symurgh from the pound, the forums, or from pet auctions.

These monsters are called Salamanders. They are unique in that they have no Guardian coloration and yet can still be found all over islands including in positions where they are guarding chests.

Throdamas and Symurghs are not native to Europa. They are from Ganymede and Io respectively and as such can only be obtained in the wild through The Portal on the Battlefield. Information on these two species can be found in the Beast Codex.

Lykos, on the other hand, are from Europa but were only able to be found in their Hibernating Egg state on the winter-exclusive Tundra biotype. A Liquid Deviance, extracted from deviant pets, is needed to activate the eggs and the eggs could then be upgraded with Liquid Vermillion from the Battlefield for a better chance at getting better genes.

As SiberianWhite said these pets are also available in the pound and pet auctions, and you can also check the Pet Sales here in the forums to look for people who are selling these species of beasts.

Answer 1: Could you describe the appearance a little more? I think you may be running into a Salamander, and yes, they're very difficult to kill. The codex is incomplete for several monster species, it seems.

Answer 2: As stated by SiberianWhite, you can get them from other players. Wild Lykos came from a single event several months ago, and cannot be found now, except from someone else who got one. Wild Symurghs and Throdamas can be obtained by holding a certain position on the Battlefield for ten hours.

Hope this helps!

Edit: Darn, beat me to it.
