Yes... Anything to help me figure out who is related quicker. Less of that tediousness of manually searching. With my spreadsheet I find a perfect pair, but I then realize they are cousins or something when I breed. 

Yeah, a search feature for this would work well enough. I'd be happy with that. It would be nice if non-premium had a way of searching for relations. :)

I read Lytala's suggestion thread, and it seems similar to what we're discussing, but the opposite, as in instead of showing related pets, it's hiding them, the thread is here: http://beastkeeper.com/thread/7225

We may be able to glean some ideas from it, as they are similar, in regards to how both of the threads are related to relatives and in-breeding concerns.

Why princessslothie, I'm shocked you didn't feel comfortable enough to confront me directly with your question. I'm sorry if I haven't made myself approachable.I can assure you I have not been messing with you in the slightest. Moderators are, in fact, made mostly of potatoes! It's a hard fact to digest, I know, but you'll come to terms with it eventually. Mashed potatoes, fried potatoes, scalloped potatoes, even potato salad. Especially potato salad, in fact.

If you're referring to my Project Overpopulate it is no joke. I had 7 Black Symurghs born yesterday, 4 males and 3 females, and 7 more will be born tomorrow! You can have your pick of the babies. As I said, I'd be fine giving you one as a sign of good will. I don't want there to be any bad blood between us. You mentioned wanting a family of good friends, of good people, and I'd like to think of myself as a good person. You don't think I'm a bad person, do you? You have my deepest most sincere apologies if I've come off that way to you.

@Wireath - Nightingale and I have discussed this some, so I'm curious as to what you would have said, but trust that I've had no ill intentions here.

Anyway, on a more serious note. Sylviianel is good friend of mine here on the site. Our conversations range from deep worldly issues like healthcare to less serious things like pretending to be different people, or who the heck "Ollie" is. Mostly she corrects my spelling (thank you Ralph) and I draw things for her. She is indeed a brilliant writer and isn't afraid to voice her opinions or question others.

She once inquired about Moderators and what we do, she was curious because she wanted to know the proper places to report issues. She also wondered how I balanced being a player and a moderator. If I recall I was very tired that night and told her that we are made of the same stuff as users... Mostly... But we have Mashed Potatoes in us. I say this because that is my favorite food (with a bit of steak). She knows im just a regular 'ol person who has a job on here... And that is to keep the peace and make sure things are tidy. Which it seems I must do now.

As far as your inquiry to your thread.... It looks like Sylviianel was questioning the use of my name on the thread and the rules of the group. I was unaware of this, so I was a bit confused. I did not know that my symurghs were looked up to. I admit, I had started a breeding project with symurghs but stopped because I ran out of space.
Sylviianel is correct however- I'm no more special than any user here. I make plenty of spelling errors (dyslexic) and can be very forgetful on whether or not someone has paid me for a skin. Yes, I have been here since the site opened. Yes, that means I have a bunch of pets from everywhere. My pets are not the strongest though. All of them are still a work in progress. I would hope that if people look up to me that it is based on my actions and moral fiber-not pets that I acquire during and event or auction. I also sincerely hope that users are confortable talking to me about such issues, even when they involve myself.

I'm getting off topic. Anyway, I don't think that Sylviianel was messing with you per say. Knowing her writing style it seems she was questioning the opinion of me as an influential users (since she knows me) and the basis for your group. We do not have many groups that charge a fee to be involved in/join. I think Sylviianel was pointing out that the items you were looking for are a bit expensive.

As she is a friend of mine I will try to remain impartial in my judgement. If you feel otherwise. Or want to chat more.... Please PM me.

Let me make a few key points and you can draw from it what you will:

1) Posts should be kept tidy. That means if there is an issue on one thread it stays on that thread. Let's not cross topics either. This is a suggestions thread, unrelated to the breeding group. I will be cleaning this up later when I am on my computer. I will move your breeding group to the archive. You can feel free to make a new one. I'm sure that you would like a newer and cleaner thread. I will lock the old one now and move it.

2) If anyone has an issue with any user at any time please report them or PM me (and if applicable add them to your Foe's list so they can't PM you). Personnel issues are kept confidential and are never publically released. If something occurs between users it is best to always grab screenshots. Please do not share this with the public.

3) Anyone can make breeding groups and make whatever requirements they wish. That also means that someone else can make a similar groups. There are very many different combinations of pets. People are allowed to market something as their own- just know that others could too. You can be exclusive, up until someone else joins in.

4) Everyone is entitled to an opinion if it can be voiced in a reasonable method that does not offend others, and still follows the ToS. This also gives you the right to question others and be critical, so long as it is done in a constructive manner and is non-offensive.

I did not find any offensive remarks between either parties, so I appreciate that you were both civil, and that both remained mature.

I will likely write more later, but I am on my phone and that gives me a limit on what I can type.

I would also like to stress one more thing regarding Wireath.... A forum post is public. The only exception is a private RP. Suggestion threads especially are invitations for others to come and voice their opinion. That means people will okay devils advocate... But it gives you a chance to hone your ideas more and be critical of it. Very important life skills.

Because Nightingale previously mentioned me numbering my generations... I did. until my pool of available pets to breed from got too small and I needed to mix generations, and then it just became a huge mess trying to remember if so and so could breed together!

Now what I do is an similar copy of what Aelisk does for his breeding projects. I list the # of undesirable traits the pet has and the pets name is what desirable traits it has. Also I have premium so I just try to breed until I find some that are unrelated. Usually sell the parents too to avoid any bloodline being overrepresented.

As for the pedigree thing, I also think it would be very hard to pull off. I have one pet with over 100 offspring whose offspring I can't even check because the page never loads. Rather than being able to see siblings, which is extremely server intensive, it would probably be more doable to make them "invisible" when breeding.

lol, that's what Lytala was suggestion, Liandraltihe -- maybe merge the two threads, due to it's similarities, and change the Expand Pedigree title to Relative Viewer?

Anyhow, yeah, I hated the lag, it pretty much stopped me from loading anything beastkeeper related until it loaded, and was one of my concerns for this suggestion 

Yeah, that was also another concern of mine, visual wise. When I tried making my own pedigree chart, due to me having started my project of 2 males, and 4 females, I pretty much did something similar to leep-frog, thus it was a real mess, both when making the chart, and when I came back after a break. What helped me out was how I still kept my shreadsheet, so know the importance of keeping a log.

Anyhow, kinda off topic, but I think I bought some of your pets before, and their naming is pretty similar to how I catigorize my pets, by traits they have,  and this is similar to one of the work arounds I mentioned XD, naming pets a certain way to figure out what to figure out if they're related.

Ps. Not too sure about that exert regarding me, but I take that's a praise, so I'll just say "Thanks, just being constructive. Would want to see this feature, but when taking into account coding, and such, there may be better things to use the time on, especially with how there are already similar features."

Also, thanks for the link. Google Docs does not agree with my phone so I finally got to take a peak at it just now. It is much more in depth than mine. I don't know if I could develop a shorthand and remember it :P I have to do enough shorthand at work! Kudos to you for all that effort. 

A releative view would also make me very happy :)

I wouldn't mind the naming if I didn't like to leave them as nameless or have an actual name. I may end up doing that though.

Thanks, wasn't too sure, mainly because it could have been a warning, with how it's a public thread and you gave a warning earlier, but that was probably just me being cautious.

Thanks again, though I don't feel that it's really extensive; I was pretty much compiling the information on the pet's page (Parents, genes, name, and placement), but, instead of having it on one page, seperated so it's easier to view, pull up when nessary.

You don't really need names, like what I did, you could use the pet's link, or their number (like what you've been doing), I just think names give them more distinction.

Though it'll most likely be a premium feature, this way it would suit to everyone's need. Only problems we have to look into now is, "How would it work? How would it most likely look? How easy would it be to code/program?" and probably a few more, but this is the most apparent right now.

From what I can tell them:

!. "How would it look?" -- Would probably look similar to when you're breeding a pet. (So that it could also be used them, if needed.)

2. 'How would it work?" -- Possibly, if you select that option (like with Pedigree), you'll be shown related pets, but when you're breeding or something, there is a filter check box, indicating you don't want to view related pets. (Information on this would be pulled from the the prior.) (Also would only take childrens from the grandparent and parent.)

3. "How easy would it be to code/program?" -- I'm not too sure, since I'm not a programmer, but since there are already such programs, it might be easy, hard part would most like be making sure it worked and wouldn't slow/ruin the loading for the site. -- Though don't take my words for this, as like I said, not a programmer / know next to nothing about coding / etc.
