I'm enjoying this game emensly but as I've been playing I foudn it odd that ears and eyes were tied together on one loci.
Along with this comes new gene combinations which can turn a negative gene into a positive thing. For example people who are Deaf in real life tend to notice things more with their eyes. I'm not saying give deaf pets automatic Acute Eyesight, but perhaps add that Acute Eyesight removes the Debuff from Deaf pets. Meaning they keep their resistance to sound attacks and gain back the negatives from their condition.
To keep this fair I would suggest adding Acute Hearing, which would increase the likely hood of getting affected by sound attacks but increases critical hit chance by 30%, as well as adding poor sight and blind genes. Meaning you could have a pet who is immune to petrifying gaze and fearsome look but you'd need the right gene combination to make it work. (To clarify Poor Sight and Blind would work exactly like Poor Hearing and Deaf work).
This opens up more posibility with pets, you could breed Deaf and Blind pets to be immune, and focus on them causing damage through other means, breed for both acute genes to hit high criticals but be more likely to be affected by sound or vision affects, or some mix depending on whatever gives you the most trouble in the arena.
If the split was to happen I'd see the genes we already have splitting in this manner:
Animal Instinct: Eyes (Dragon, Cockatrace, Roc, Gryphon), Ears (Unicorn, Puma, Symurgh, Throdoma, Lykos)
Poor Hearing: Ears
Normal Senses: Split into ears and eyes
Deaf: Ears
Acute Eyesight: Eyes
Petrifying Gaze: Eyes
Scout: Not sure where to put this one, I'd honestly like to move this to brain, or perhaps find a way of splitting it
Watchman: Eyes
Sense of Direction: Same thing with scout, I'd like to move this one to brain, or find a way to split it (perhaps when they breed they give acute hearing and another gene which the parent would be homozygous for sight? Turning Scout and Sense of Direction into a combo?)
Genes we could add:
Blind and Poor Eyesight: eyes (acts and Deaf and Poor Hearing respectivly)
Acute Hearing: ears (gives the same benefit as Acute eyesight without seeing further on the map and an extra weakness to vocal attacks, whild introducing weakness to sight attacks on those with acute eyesight. Acute Hearing and Acute Eyesightt would get rid of the debuffs for Poor eyesight/blind and Poor Hearing/deaf respectfully)
I'd like the genetic power to be the same to their counterparts, And I'm open for more eye and ear genes.
