I noticed that I can only have one type of each golem in use at any one time. That is a bit of a problem for me since I need a lot of food to feed my pets.

So here is my idea: 

I would like to suggest a new building. It could be called a Farm. Having a farm would let you increase how many golems that produce food you could make. 

For example:

Lvl 1 Farm- Lets you have 2 of each golem at the same time. (Honey Golem, Rabbit Meat Golem, Sunflower Golem, Wheat Golem)

And so on....

Of course the building will only work on food producing golems. It will not work on other golems because I still want a reason to explore.

Sorry if the idea isn't very good or doesn't make sense....its only a suggestion.

 

Why can't you just buy food?:

I do buy food if there is a reasonable buy out but some food trades either have no buyout or have an unreasonable buyout.

Why not get rid of some of your pets?:

I do get rid of my pets but some are necessary. For example I can't get rid of my throdamas until all of their pheremones have been used. I do not want to get rid of any of them with unused pheremones because someone gave them to me for the purpose of using the pheremones. I would feel bad.

You can find food while exploring.:

I can only explore 20 times a day and some islands have no food or very little.

As for the suggestion, I suppose I can see how it can be useful to users, but I'm posting mainly because I have some comments on your points::


Why can't you just buy food?:
Food is only worth 1 silver per 1 food, no matter what type it is. If you were to not have any of a food type in your inventory then, on the day change when your pets go to be fed at the townhall, 1 silver per each 1 food you are short of will be spent each pet eats 18 pounds of food per day (1 food = 1 pound), meaning you'd spend 18 silver per pet if you had no food stored. So, if you'd mind spending the silver each day, having food isn't a necessary part of the game.

You can find food while exploring:
Technically, if you send 5 pets to the SPSB each day, you can explore 45 times a day. The extra explores really help with material collection. I used to max out on food all the time but now that the max limit of food we can have has been increased I don't think I'll have that problem for a while. If you're exploring with high level pets you can find 2 food plots on some islands.

I actually have to keep as much silver as I can for future building so I don't want to have to have any taken if I run out of food.

 

I actually explore with my throdamas first then GP3 unicorns and I still dont get enough food because I don't find enough. And I don't have a lot of high level pets. Only 3 at best and two of them are only at the 20s.

I find myself having the same problem with not having enough food even though I explore a lot.

I like this idea a lot. People have more pets than ever. Way more than they have time to explore for. I'd love to be able to have a farm with multiple golems. :) Feeding my pets is something I just let happen... I don't explore for food anymore, I just suck up the silver to feed them. But having a bunch of food golems- Now I'd like that. Nice for lazy people like me who log in every day but don't always have time for the dalies.

I like this idea, even though I hardly run out of food I can see how that can be a problem to some people. If the mods would like to stick with the `1 golem` rule, maybe the farm can "power up" the golem's outcome? Like a lvl 1 Farm would maximize the produced amount of the current active golems by 20%, a lvl 2 by 40% and so on until a lvl 5 of 100%.

*Cough* Or the Farms could produce the food themselves, cuz there are only  four food golems, other of 6 food types-- If the farm produces food themselves, you could maybe send in pets, like with questing / construction, to either harvest, or help boost the production, maybe, like farmhands, or something.

Anyways, I'm also in a similar situation, where for some reason, some of the food types just don't seem to appear, and I end up running out, and having to spend silver on them. Though it's not really a problem for me, I just like not having to spend the silver.
