So I've been gone for while, and just returned. I'm still getting caught up with all the updates and all!

So I recently adopted this one from the Pound.

http://beastkeeper.com/pet/433087

Upon seeing that it was a degened (G3 Degeneration) offspring, I tried to look at its pedigree to see where the degen came in.

Tried to, being the operative phrase. I checked the pedigree of each parent and each parent's parents and so on. I can see no duplicates at all in the visible pedigrees, although several pedigrees are inaccessible (I get an error message when trying to click on some of the ancestors).

So... err... basically, although this pet and its parents both have degen, I cannot see where it comes in and how to get rid of it. Also, I do not know if this pet should have degen or not. (In other words, is this a massively bugged pet?)

I found this: http://beastkeeper.com/pedigree/251258 on the father's side and this: http://beastkeeper.com/pedigree/251258 on the mother's. They both come from a related line, with of one of two degen grades in those pets already so it will add up to a degen 3 if being bred with relatives, like in your unicorn's case. To get rid of degeneration, you have to breed this pet with another that that doesn't have related pets in the in at least tree generations on their lineage.

If you want to check a pet's ancestry, but regular links (http://beastkeeper.com/pet/251258) send you to an error page, it means that pet has been sent to a Reserve or the State Portal, but you can still see its lineage by modifying the link as above.

Oh thank you for the tip about the pedigree/regular link trick. I am sure that will help me a great deal! :D

All right, thanks for clearing it up for me, about the error pages.

Murr. I see a long project in the future for me, to get good offspring, hahaha.
