Recently I bred my roc (Glacier) and this is what she looks like:

This is what the father (Arsames) looks like:

But the baby roc looks like this:

I went to Help > List of skins, and It says it's a Deviantart Pattern. But none of the other rocs I have from Glacier look like this, and none of Arsames's children look like this? Why does my roc look like this?

Hmm.

I think I might have figured it out. Glacier's father is also Arsames...

But I have bred family members before and nothing happened....

It's purely genetics; nothing to do with how the parents might be related.

If a pet is born with identical color or pattern genes then there is a 10% chance that it will be a deviant.

Your pet inherited the birds of prey gene from both parents and you were lucky enough to get a deviant out of it.
