*waves* So, my name is Shieb, and I'm relatively new here. I came in on the coattails of a couple of my friends, and I'm rather fond of sites like this, so I predict being around for at least a couple months.

I recently discovered the Text Quests function of this site, and realized that I should probably have a presence here on the forum if I'm going to tell people I've got stories up. So this is me. :) Sayin' hi.

Hello Shieb!

I really do hope you like it here :) Please let us know if you have questions!

Text Quests were kind of an experiement of sorts- to see how writing would take. I don't think many people figured it out yet- because it is a different and new thing for a pet site. It would be really cool if people had interest enough in it to play around with it! I'd love to see! :D

Oh, I do like it here. :) I've always loved the fantasy genre, and the images here are rather pretty. The mechanics also have a nice balance between mindlessness (some repetative areas like exploring) and thoughtfulness (identifying genetics and breeding), in my opinion.

I'm a writer. It's been embedded in my being, and I'm rather happy to see a unique output available to me. :) I'm interested in making a fantasy adventure (sadly, not in the same universe as Beastkeeper's lore, for obvious reasons), and I've already incorporated stats and gender, and written out all the choices for the first battle. With some work, I should manage to introduce abilities as well, but at the moment it's rather limited, and no longer than maybe 30 seconds worth of adventure time, or maybe 5 minutes if you wanted to explore everything.

Long story short, I should be able to make a comprehensive, interactive story with this software, and I hope I can make it engaging and fun. :)

Wow! That is so exciting to hear. I can't wait until you unveil it. I always admire writers. I envy their passion and patience at finishing a work. I'd love to write, but only snippets come to me. Never full stories. I just can't... Hmm.. Get the structure I suppose. I do love short stories! However, I have always wanted to try to write a novel.

It is fun! I can do my daily activities easily on my phone. But if I want to escape there is plenty to escape to :)

Sadly, I'm an undisciplined writer. I write when the muse wills it (and usually at inopportune moments, because muse has no concept of a schedule), and when my interest is gone, it's gone. I'm hoping I at least get a decent way through this story before that happens. That isn't to say I can't keep writing, but the quality drops. Or so I think. But the artist is always critical of their work. :P

If you'd like to see a short story or something come to fruition here, I'd be happy to brainstorm with you, and help, even if it's just editing or giving an opinion.

Still! I' admire that. I just write a few snippits of stories that aren't cohesive. :/

What sorts of things do you like to write/read?

I would like that!

Well, I'll take my little piece of admiration from that and thank you. :)

I read all sorts of fantasy/scifi, mainly, but if the story is interesting, I can read pretty much anything. As for writing, I tend to just stick to the fantasy/scifi genres, because I can't write fiction without putting in something spectacular. And I've tried. XD

Feel free to PM me whenever you need me, then. :)

Whoops! Almost forgot to ask what yo're into.

Yay!

I love fantasty the most.. as well as adventure and mystery (also historical stuffs as well). I'm not much into fiction either... Scifi is okay... I just don't like things that are too outlandish or based in technology. o.0

I can't make sense of sci-fi in a deeply technical sense (though I love science theory, because possibilities), but I can make up enough stuff and pull off of theories, to make it sound like I know what I'm doing, as a writer, and that this is how the world actually works.

Yes! That is what I enjoy. When the writer iss convinced how their world works, then you can tell. It shows, because the world seems to flow better together and it seems more convinving to the reader :)

I love all the possibilities of science (and I love science in real life!), I think science can easily offer readers an explanation for fantasies coming true.
