I seem to have bad luck with my catches, (a blue 'trice, and my only one, and white female unicorn with weak bones and dystrophy when I wanted a male, and a male blue dragon, when I already have exactly that with better stats, so I'm going to sell him) but I have a good strategey.

So I put a mammal catcher at each, and voila! I caught my (female, white, dystrophic) unicorn!
(Except I can't get to the cave yet :/ and that's where the Roc is)

I'm trying for the life of me to catch a decent male griffin. I've gotten three great females so far, but no good males. The one that I'm currently taming is going to end up in the pound due to his horrid stats.

Congrats! Wish I had that kind of luck with wild pets.
I'm hoping for a puma from my current expedition. *crosses fingers* I have a mammal catcher at the creek, where my observer spotted one last trip, so here's hoping.
