according to the battlefield page, i currently have no squads. i try to downgrade my squad to a group and then reset it as a squad but it displays the error that i must be off the battlefield to downgrade. i am currently not on the map so i am unsure as to what's happening.

Your squad isn't stuck. Please got to mirror map and cancel researching. Researching moves the squad on the battlefied before landing and keeps it busy and locked for all other actions until its finished.
