So I was bidding on something in the item trades and when I checked my bids it says I was outbid. When I went to check the last bid that was there was my own. Is this a bug or is it meant to happen?

I don't think it is a bug, but I'm not sure. I can see the use in it, and have seen it on other sites. I have often outbid myself on purpose before because I figured since I was going to be offline (because I need sleep) that I would make a higher bid to hopefulyl sway others from bidding against me.

It was a bug. I reported it and they fixed it. It was very annoying while it existed because I wound up accidentally double bidding several times, and at least one of those double bids was for an auction with a 1k bid increment.
