Hiya! I've had the neatest idea for a story or roleplay (in my opinion) for the longest time. I only have decided the basics but beyond what is set, I do not mind changes. I will warn you, the story has limited main characters. But before we get into all of that, let's set up some...

GROUND RULES:

1- I really would prefer no cursing. I understand that it is a part of characterization, and I understand some people think they are just common words, but I just don't like to put up with it.

2- I also would like to throw out there that, and I do not intend to offend ANYONE by the wayologize if I do, I also have no tollerance for same sex relationships between characters. That is just my stand-point, I will not apologize for anything else regarding this subject.

3- Have an anchored sense of power, please. No crazy story limiting power or last-minute changes to powers in order to change a scenario in the story. Really the only powers I just can not accept are A: the inability to die, B: regeneration after death, C: the ability to kill with just a look, touch, sniff, or any other sense, or D: the ability to heal others without side effects. Obviously they would become woozy and weak. :P

-phew- Now that that is settled...

STORY BASICS:

The world is being drained of color, the sky, the ocean, the plants, the animals, the people, everything. The people are slowly loosing their memory of specific colors, as well. Whatever source is taking the color from the world is unknown, although a small group of strange looking humans are being assembled to help restore the world's vividity. These people are average anatomicly, but as far as coloration goes, they are based on basic combinations and groupings of the color wheel. It has also been discovered that they have "super powers". These people are nicknamed "Values". The organization that looks after and hires Values for the research and slowing of the de-coloring process is Spectrum, so named for their presidnet who is the Spectrum Value. This base is where the story will begin.

The Characters that are set in stone are as follows;

Primary: Only one of each

Compliment: Only one of each

Orange/Blue: Position filled by Pencil_Lines

Red/Green:

Yellow/Violet(or purple, whichever you like to say better):

Warm (Reds, Oranges, and Yellows):

Cool (Blues, Greens, and Purples):

Grayscalers: As many as needed

Grayscale (all shades of Black, White, and Grey) NOTE-this is how all average humans appear.

Tinters: As many as needed

Pure Black or Pure White (NOTE- these are the people targeted as taking color from the world)

Neutral:

Neutral (All shades of any Brown, including those tinted towards another hue): Position filled by Pencil_Lines

Spectrum:

Spectrum (ALL colors-not black or white-):

Basicaly give a bit of a back story that ends with your character at, in, being lead to, being taken against their will to, etc. Spectrum.)

Character One:

Character Name: Cam Lenny

Age: 17

Gender: Female

"Value": Compliment- Orange/Blue

Abilities granted by coloring: Cam has the power to transform into any orange and/or blue colored animal (Though she most commonly appears as a blue-eyes red fox, or a Barn Swallow)

Appearence: She has a strangely orange skin tone and has bright orange hair ("Carrot top" or "Ginger" if it assists you.) that is tightly curled and a bit wild She has Cyan eyes that deepen into a royal blue around her pupils. She does have freckles, though they are mostly clumped about her nose.

Other: After trasnforming, Cam's clothing naturally is left behind, so she carries a small backback with her at all times that contains a change of clothes, just in case her previous ones were damaged or lost.

How she got to Spectrum: Cam's widowed mother understood her daughters importance to the fate of the world, and informed Spectrum calmly and with Cam's concent. As a result, Cam was the first Value ever happily settled within the organization.

Character Two:

Character Name: Bayard Dunn

Age: 10

Gender: Male

"Value": Neutral

Abilities granted by coloring: Bayard has the ability to control earth. Though he cannot manipulate purified metals, he can still control gemstones and sand.

Appearence: He has a fairly average appearence due to his reddish-brown skin and dark hair. He has honey colored eyes.

Other: Although he is not mute, he prefers not to speak and has a bad habit of staring at people to the point of discomfort.

How he got to Spectrum: Bayard's appearance is truley not what gave him away, especially considering that both of his parents are African-American. But when he was bullied at school, the teachers and students were surprised when Bayard had caused the sand from the sand box fly over its edge and ontop of the bully. Terrified of what he might do to their children, multiple parents called Spectrum and forced Batyard's parents to let them take him in for training and schooling among others like himself. He is among the newer additions to Spectrum.

BEGINNING THE STORY...

     Cam closed her door quietly behind her as she left her room. Checking her watch, she frowned. "Stupid alarm..." She murmured to herself as she swiped her card key through the pad hanging on the wall beside her door. She placed the card back in its pocket on her book bag and swung the bag over one shoulder. As she walked she steamed over how the alarm clocks in the Spectrum housing were constanlty on the fritz. Who knew when they would give out in the middle of the night and cause you to be an hour and a half late; just as she was now. A Grayscaler doctor walked past and Cam smiled up to him as they passed eachother.

     Cam puffed a strand of her springy hair from her eyes and turned sharply down the hall that lead to the cafeteria. She adjusted the strap of her bag as she used her left hand to push open the doors and glared at the empty tables surrounding her. There were a few others scrambling for their late breakfasts while trying to run to their classes, but Cam knew their speedy walking was pointless. She tossed her bag into a booth in the corner and made her way through the line slowly, surprised by what all was left from the main breakfast rush.

     Shesat down in her saved booth and proped her feet on the booth seat opposite the table from her. She opened her box of cereal and prepared it quietly, then proceeded to fish out only the blue Fruit Loops to eat them first.

Chacter name: Willow

Age: 16

Gender: Female

"Value":Green

Abilities Granted by coloring: She has a great connection with nature and can change into any animal, but her necklace still shows.  Can restore the color to any plant UNLESS it is flowering or has fruit then only the leaves will be restored.

Apprence: Black hair with green streaks with eyes matching the forest and pale palish skin.

Other: Some people think she is evil for her black hair which upsets her so she doesn't like people that much

How she got in the Spectrum: Her parents saw the green color in her hair and couldn't remove it. They didn't think much of it, but once a bully was pulling bark off a tree and the tree slapped him with a branch. Someone called the Spectrum imediatly

Character name: Midori

Age: 13 (behave like polite 16)

Gender: Female

"Value": compliment-Red/green

Abilities granted by coloring: Midori is able to tell which plants and herbs are useful for curing people and is able to take on herself their wounds, but only until her endurance will allow without passing. Due to her red compliment she may control bloodflow and heat the temperature of almost everything to the point of burning it (or starting the fire).

Appearance: Dark-green long and a little weavy hair with only one strand of auburn color on the right, pale skin and Heterochromic eyes- one is normal green and the second is brownish-red. She doesn't like it, so she cover it with her fringe.

Others: She's deadly scared of plain white or plain dark spaces, due to her history, and have one small emerald pendant(brother's present) she treasures more than her life. Nobody knows why, but she's skilled sword user. She likes furry or feathery animals

How she got in the Spectrum: Orphaned by their parents, Midori lived with her elder brother, a skilled value - already hired but not living in Spectrum. When he discovers her compliment, he tries to escort her to the Spectrum, but they're ambushed on the snow-covered plain at nightfall. Her brother calls help from Spectrum and engages in fight to protect her but is deeply hurt. This causes Midori to lost control and back up from Spectrum is forced to drug her and bring to the main base. Since then she is in the school, waiting, then searching informations about her brother.

Midori yawned, as she wandered from nursery office to the cafeteria in search for a late breakfast. She spent her first period in library, because their teacher decided that until she will be freed from restraint on her Red compliment, there's nothing she can learn from him and his offense of values lesson. Then she went to a nursery. She grimaced, watching a newly bandaged hand. It wasn't a big wound, but aside of it, the Value was completely ready for next mission and hospital nurse had problem with controlling him. That resulted in sending him to school infirmary, where Midori performed "healing", which in her case, meant taking the wounds of the guy, his stress and pain and moving it on herself. Thanks to the operation, she was freed from the second and part of the third period as well, so she decided to try and eat something- she avoided that before using the healing, so her full power will be focused on the process, instead of digestion. Another side was, she didn't like risking vomiting at the sight of a wound or from the pain.

She took small bowl of oatmeal and used her irritiation at the pain to warm it up. Of course, a watch on her wrist activated the restraint before she was able to boil it again, but that was fine, the meal was already warm enough. It was funny how her compliments depended on her emotions and feelings...

Midori looked around the rather large room and spotted a seventeen year old, eating cereals.  She remembered Cam was a Compliment, just as her, and that was what lead her to sit near by, in a distance that didn't disturb personal bubble and allowed to ignore her, but wasn't a problem, if someone wished to talk.

-Good morning, miss Cam. -she greeted and in an instant mentally smacked herself for adding that oldschool "miss", but again, the girl was four years elder than her and she was raised to respect age differences.
